This is an interesting quote from Siebold if you like to try read into things, 'those' the key word -

Not sure how Bird Staggs and Boyd then fit into the mix if he actually meant those three are fighting for two wing spots, or it was just a meaningless quote.

Birdy has done some reps at centre and fullback during the pre-season. We do have some depth in the outside backs, so everyone will get ample opportunity to stake a claim during the trials.”

EDIT: There is actually another CM article re Corey Oates only just returning to training after a leg infection. It says that he should be right for round 1, but if not, then Coates would probably take his place.

I won't be touching Coates if he gets the wing spot round 1. While Farnworth showed he is capable of some higher scores I wouldn't expect an average much above 30. Meanwhile put up scores of 16 with a try and 9 points, both games in 80 minutes. I would say the 28 in 90 minutes is an outlier unless you think wingers will regularly make 22 tackles

Darius has been a cracking player but it's hard to see him fitting into this squad any longer.

Staggs and Bird at CTR, Farnworth and Oates on the wings and I cant see Siebold picking Boyd over Isaako at fullback

Maybe a bench spot while Bird/Oates spend some time at lock?
