It's a toss up between getting good players in teams that might not make the quarters, it getting average players in teams that can go all the way.

Thompson might only play 2 games (hopefully not, as Tommt Talau leads the Tigers to glory)

Ah someone picked up Hamiso and ofc it was Welshy. Dad coached him for a bit in his juniors and never stopped raving about him. Finally went to watch him last year when i was visiting the family and watched him score two tries in his third game for blackhawks, i think that took him to eight from the three games or something.

Speed to burn, will carve up in the 9's if he gets enough opportunity and you'd think Lolo offloads will provide plenty. Was hoping he'd be in the leftovers for me to make a team from. Fucking Welshy...

What position does he normally play and is he eligible for first grade to start the season?

He's in the development squad so no, similar to Gebbie, will only be eligible after June 30 or if upgraded to top 30

Fullback normally (at least in juniors and when i saw him at blackhawks, was lucky enough to be getting coached by mango at the time too!), but as the boys went and got themselves a Holmes I guess there is no reason he couldn't slot in to wing. Like a lot of those athletic kids they tend to be good at a lot of sports and afl were chasing him for a while so he'd have the skills. All that said, he's on a development contract this year iirc.

Yeah that Pool 3 is a tricky one to pick. I would think the Tigers and Bunnies pip the Titans, Raiders right out. I’ve hedged my bets a little with a Rabbitoh, a Titan and two Tigers. I find the other three pools a bit easier to guess.

Does seem like an interesting strategy from mattnz. Definitely think Tigers and bunnies go through in that pool no questions, although i guess it is 9's, who knows what upset could happen.

Briggenshaw is one the ladies I can recognise, and Broncos should make the final, so I was happy to go with her.

Tiana Penitani scored 5 in the World 9s last year, I had me eye on her too.

Might grab another lady before the end, depends who is available

Yeah I’m kind of betting on Rabbitohs and Tigers too. I’m thinking of picking up a second Bunny . If everything goes according to plan, only one of my players doesn’t make finals. A sacrificial Peachy.

Hamiso has been mentioned in all the write ups about the nines as one to watch. He was always going to get picked by someone

What Pookus said is true though, it's more fun to pick players you know and can cheer on. Especially in a comp like this which is just for fun.

4 women guns are picked - 3 for me, 1 for Milch. I watched the womens 9s internationals. Some really good games. Jess Sergis is like Latrell would be if he tried 100% of the time. Gun!

IMO should of just been the from the mens comp. Not well known enough for me anyway so sticking mostly with what I see more regular

Almost midnight here in NZ.

I suggest that someone trusted who will be free tomorrow, receives a few picks in order from each of us, so we can keep things moving if needed tomorrow.

Except for Meercats the rest have 2-3 picks remaining. Suggest providing the number of picks remaining + 3 additional players, ranked from 1 being first picked if still available.

For ones like Welshy especially this will be important, as he is likely asleep when most of the remaining picks are happening, the same as happened today.
