Mine is Tom Burgess *waits for the laughing to stop*
I know, I know- he has literally years of data telling me how poor a fantasy pick he is. And yet I just can’t help but think he is getting better and better (FYI- the fantasy stats say he is definitely not) and he tried his damn guts out for the poms! Obviously there is no chance in hell I am going to pick Turgess- even if he got the extra minutes in the forward pack the stats show he will still barely increase his fantasy output. And yet there is such a strong gut feeling about him.

The moral? Sometimes you go with your gut, but if you are thinking about a Turgess-esque player, you definitely go with your head (and a veritable bevy of statistical analysis)

WGP (wild gut pick) for me this season would be George Williams

awkwardly priced has come in already at a 40+ point range, not highly owned, nothing known about his stats wise in NRL, coming into a team where halves have scored poorly last few years minus Wighton last year)

Everything screams NO and being stuck with a middie, but gut says that kid has all the tools to be an absolute gun at the position this season

What's your real life and fantasy predictions for Knight this year?

Wait... is there a reason, outside of injury prone-ness, that people are suggesting taking T-Turbo out of teams instead of putting him in? Priced as he is, I’ve been planning my team with him being locked in to my WFB

Has everyone gone off Jack Williams now? Have I missed something? Or people basing off 9s?

I have zero confidence in Isaako this year at fullback. I'm more than likely going to throw a 228k in my team. H20 is interesting with the DDP in the WFB position. If a decent 228k doesn't arise I'm confident Luai has enough in his skillet to get the job done

I think Knight will play the same role he did last year. A 40 minute enforcer, averaging in the mid 40’s. Souths have a few edge forward options and Murray is our big minute man.

I was going with Papy, Brimson and Ponga/Turbo

Ponga atm because he's been over 50 avg twice, Turbo never has minus last season when removing his injury games (52) but way he plays and with his constant involvement and long levers, always going to be a huge injury risk for me

Does he eke out extra minutes? over 50 perhaps? with 2 Burgess boys gone?

Someone mentioned Magoulis as the Gallen replacement. He isn’t. Williams has been groomed for the role and its his to keep. Magoulis comes off the bench at best.

Gut picks - I'm probably going to end up with Ryan Hall or Moses Suli because otherwise my team is going to be too template.

My gut also thinks that Jordan McLean will run a 50+ average, but there's no way I can afford a 650k second prop.

No nothing wrong with Turbo, just that particular team had some weaknesses (like running Grant in the 17 who might not even be named), so Turbo was the most obvious downgrade target when they already had some decent WFB. If it suits your team, Turbo is a fine pick and definitely undervalued. His injuries are the only real concern.

Plus Sutton. Who knows really. Bennett could do anything. I’m bringing Knight in. He’s risk free, but might not be the FRF saviour some think.

A fit Turbo is definitely good buy at his price.

Yeah I think C.S is hot for him too. I am all over him in Supercoach but his price just irks me in fantasy. Raiders are the team for an unknown though- plenty of time attacking the line for sure. Wighton had surprisingly high KMs last season though which is a worry. Do you think he pinches some or just guns it as an attacking weapon, like Cody Walker?

I do like Ryan Hall and think he could be a Smokey. Wingers upset me when they arnt basement price though. I looked into Suli once because I thought he kept getting better and better at the end of the year, but his fantasy scores didn’t seem to reflect that. Definitely fits my Turgess-esque criteria!

He is a class act, Wigan been shit to start the season and no wonder without Williams. He's got a good kicking game and wighton won't need to play that role this year so I think he goes bulk. Quality, busy defender and excellent running game

Player I was this confident of going well coming over last was Whitehead.....

Just had a look at what I could do if I don't run Turbo and instead put Sailor/Saab (whoever gets the spot) in my 17.

    Basically I can choose between:

    A: Turbo + Molo/Mikaele/Mann

    B: J Williams + Fotu

Damnit man, what with that whole spiel on his prowess as a footballer, and yet it was this line that piqued my interest Lol
