The way I see it if you get all your picks right, you won't want to trade any of them out. If you get one wrong(everyone will) it's easy enough to find cash to grab who you need to

While all you fools squabble over cash generation, i am picking 17 players who will produce keeper scores from round 1. I will have 34 trades available come the first bye.

Thoughts on Ben Hunt as a POD, record suggests he scores well without widdop in the past.

Hot take - I think he outscores Moses per round, and if he was just a little bit cheaper or Qld could announce he’s not making SOO pre-season, I’d put him in my team from R1

What are everyones thoughts on having cash reserves? What is an optimum amount & why?

From Haas onwards, there are only 4 players id choose to have in my team. That's not to say that your picks are bad, id just be terrified with your back 5, only Pap id be comfortable with. Luia in starting 13 is scary, Ive been vocal in my opposition to Hess, and Su'a isn't a player id want to be relying on either.

I have both Su'a and Luai in my squad, so don't that as criticism, im just worried that ill get burnt there.

Aside from Hunt, other gun players I really like but don’t have the balls to pick:

Papalii - averaged 59 post Origin, and possibly higher again in the finals! (Haven’t checked but that game where he wrecked Souths must have been worth loads)

Pearce - think he will push 50 ppg, same price as George Williams, can’t believe you’d go the Super league half in that price bracket

SST - he’s the only elite middle who hasn’t had IRL translate to fantasy, I think he goes >50 this year like all the others, which makes him at least 70k under priced

EDIT: I also probably won’t pick TTrbo but I’ve spend a lot of time trying to make room for him.

Big Pap is a beast. Always takes advantage of his offseason and it shows early.

Man he was good to watch towards the end of last year though.

Someone remember how Ash Taylor used to go before he went bad?

Yeah I suspect he’s going to start quite a bit slower than 59ppg. But if he’s 100% for post-Origin I’ll be keen for a repeat.

One of the many things I think i did badly last year was looking a bit too backwards with my late trades for guns. So I missed even seriously considering like D Fifita, Papalii, Tevaga, Ma’u etc.

Hey guys, been reading for a few weeks now and finally have some free time to contribute.

Who would you classify as the definite captain options this year?

My thinking is, make a team with all the value options in the second row (including Dfifita), obvious picks such as Papz, go for a captain option that isn't Haas or Lolo (have Fifita atm pending he doesn't seem hampered in the trial).

    Currently have the following:

    Friend
    Fifita © Carrigan
    Fifita Williams Leilua
    Cleary Mann
    Aubs Lomax
    Paps Aekins Cotric
    Koro Hess Sua Brailey
Luai, 3*246 with around $200k itb

My biggest issue with AT has always been his reluctance to run the footy/take the line on.

He managed to put up reasonable scores prior to 2019 with a crazy amount of try assists from kicks. Can he keep that up?

I asked the question because im looking for someone priced under G.Williams that i can play with some degree of confidence, or has some upside. Ideally someone cheaper than Hughes.
