I had something similar and had to get rid of Lolo. So much money tied up in one player with so much value in that position.SoylentGreen wrote:Currently have Friend, Haas, Knight, Lolo, Dfifita, Williams, Hess, Carrigan, Koro & Brailey.

I can’t get my head around people’s love of Hess. He went shit last year with no real excuse. Is his role likely to change? Is he less inured? Or are we relying on him to get better ball? The other is we are going with the toss of a coin, shit one year, okay the next Kinda thing.
If this is our rationale, we should all be fingering ourselves over players like jbrom

He's apparently dropped a bunch of weight to play 80 on an edge. Either way, I'm only picking him if he starts, and even if he does, I'd be worried that Wright steals his minutes

Got excited by Keppie but Waddell will probably play there

@mtb what are your realistic thoughts on carrigan’s potential in the next couple years, how soon we thinking origin. Known of him since Playing Juniors at the same club (he was a couple years older and really close with a mate of mine) so it’s been awesome seeing his progression

I dont think he will lose the #13 for the Broncos if he gets it in round 1.
If he has a strong start to the season it wont be long until the media talk about him as a bolter for origin. QLDhave been struggling for good middles for a while and an injury or two will open up a spot.
If not this year then 2021 he will be there I reckon

He spent most of last year in the prop rotation. He has dropped a tonne of weight and has had a major attitude adjustment. He has gotten off the beers and I think Greeny and Kevvy have gotten in his ear about a QLD jumper.
He went shit last year with no real excuse - His excuse for going shit last year was he looked like he let himself go.
Is his role likely to change? - Well yes he spent most last year in the prop rotation and now will become an 80 minute second rower again.
Not expecting a massive improvement to his 48.5 average in 2018, but he is priced at 32 and with an expanded role this year and a QLD jumper up for grabs he looks destined to make money and with an edge of Morgan, Hess, Marsters*, Feldt that is pretty lethal.
I am pretty sure Marsters is a right centre yes or is that Opacic's edge?

Hopefully won't be spending as much time under the goalposts either

This too. I think with the role on the big boys should be getting we will see a lot of expanded play for the cows this year (enter Val, Drinkwater, Morgan, Feldt, Marsters, Hess, Granville/Robson.)

QLD Middles
8. McGuire
9. Friend
10. Papalii
11. Fifita
12. Kaufusi
13. Arrow
I think he can easily find his way onto the bench if he puts together a good start to the season. I think middle/edge spots on the bench will be up for grabs with guys like Offa, Napa, Capewell, Welch, Glasby, Lowe, Hess all fighting it out.

How much money you got left? I would rather someone like Lomax in Ctr and upgrading Shiba to someone like Drinkwater?
I would be more confident Lomax and Drinkwater score more than Shiba and Lomax. Really just depends on your cash itb, other than that looks similar but different with a lot of names being thrown around here. Not having Luai in your emg?

I mean if Capewell gets the nod than that is great but maybe if he isn't there then move Lomax up and swap Capewell for a WFB?
More will be clearer this time next week. I think most people with teams similar to this will be on the right track, I reckon what differs between a good start and a bad will heavily rely on picking the right... or should i say luckiest cash cow

Milikache wrote:Another player that might be underpriced is Victor Radley.
Didn't get a constant run at his preferred position due to having to cover injuries. From round 18 onwards (I assume this is when Verills began starting at hooker), he averges 48.8. If you take out round 24 score where he only played 26 mins (possibly rested?) he averages 52.7 in 6 games. He is priced at 38.
Worth having a punt?
I think if he played 80 he'd be a good pickup but he's priced pretty awkwardly at 38 points (assuming he plays 60 minutes as he did in the WCC - correct me if I'm wrong). His 60 min games at lock last year got scores of 28, 69, 58, 59 and also 62 in 50mins. All of the 50+ scores were with attacking stats but with a player like Radley I dunno if you can entirely count those out. He'd be a punt for sure and I think there's safer options at 2nd row in that price bracket but there is every chance he goes off early on in the season and is a nice little POD earner for you (POD in the sense that not many serious teams have him but he's still in 11% overall)

Dropped weight in the off season is only one level better than training the house down. Are we assuming he will become an 80min 2rf because of his weight change, or is there a reason positions will change, outside of speculation?
