Ah right, that does hold weight.

Luai is a given, and I think I have to take the chance on Walters just in case he becomes a big minute hooker. Musgrove looks like he could earn some good cash, but Keppie is tempting if he starts and gets 3-4 games (but if I have Musgrove I really don’t need any more FRFs). Then I have Magoulias tempting me in case sharks start slow and he gets the nod over Williams, and Kennedy just in case (/when the inevitable) injury plagues Moylan, also Koloamatangi, Curran, Amone, Perham, Saab in the mix.

I don’t ever remember a season with so many possible base priced cows

Definitely a decision that needs to wait for TLT though

I agree the wait to figure out which NPR's are available/viable is frustrating. I don't think it's really any different to usual though. Lots of potentials, half or more of which get ruled out at TLT with a bonus or two thrown in. Seems par for the course imo.

    Easy 1 for me

Koro has the ability playing 80 week in week out to go around 45-55 and Brailey should go 40-45

With Friends minutes and role up in the air, i'd go other way so you don't have to worry, that's with Mann on top who is also a worry about long term job security

When i say it holds weight,  i mean, it holds weight that that's what they were planning for the WCC. Not necessarily what is planned for regular season.  I voted option 1 nonetheless.

This year I thought I’d try and go for more of the guns/cheap cows way. I always seemed to end up with a many middies that don’t work and spend half of the season recovering from the wrong choices.  I’ve learned the recovering things well enough but I’m sick of that. Need to get a good start to the season some time.
And now this year starts with not to many 228/246 cows I like/trust and thus I’m heading back to them middies I’ll take a chance on.
TLT is so important for me this year. Any 228/246 cow that is in the starting 13 potentially becomes part or my team. I need them because of the amount of keepers I want to start with in my team.
So what are the 228/246 players you think will be starters in your team?
Mostly depending on TLT, I've got my eye on Musgrove, Walters and Williame as first choice. Magoulias, Curran (for the inevitable Tohu injury), and Rudolf as a secondary.
Hoping for some more clarity after this weekend

Speaking of which, who is watching what trials over the next couple of days?  Would be good to get a few Fanatics reporting back on each of them.

Aside form the 3 Fox games, I'll try to give some "objective"  Laugh 3  feedback on the Dogs/Raiders and Knights/Roosters.

OK if go with Koroisau and Brailey, My extra 70k gives me 320k for my last player. Should I use a base price 2RF or gamble that Faasuamaleaui makes some cash while Smith is out

Add another to the 450-500k 2rfs... apparently (Raiders forum) Horsburgh has been training second row with Tapine staying at lock. Bateman out until Round 7-8.

Don't know whether to consider him. He's a goer, but he's also a nutcase. Could be Bateman MkII, could be Paul Carter.

He;s already in doubt for Round 1 with a Hammy apparently.

Pretty much rules out a cheapie centre, dilemma to either pick set and forget or go with the cheaper, less favourable option to partner lomax.

WT2K wrote:FWIW.. Madge did a radio interview today. Talked about Musgrove plenty. Only mentioned Walters and Reynolds as hooker options.. nothing on mbye playing there.

    Makes sense.

The idea that Mbye plays centre until Momirovski returns then goes to hooker... If he’s the hooker, he has to play hooker from R1. You’re not going to compromise at the position that touches the ball most to strengthen centre for a week or two.

I thought there was only 2 games on fox.

Edit: Sorry, you were right standard. Didn't know about the Tigers game on Sunday. Very nice.

Did it cost them an interchange though? HIA is a free change in NRL, I assumed the same for the WCC

I was trying to think how it affected their plans. Im just not sure. It gives them one less man on the bench, sure, but bringing verrills on for friend is only going to freshen friend up if they need him late.

I know coaches have different ideas re holding back fresh players.. but yeah, dunno

For what it's worth I've listened to every interview Robinson has done this preseason and not once since the WCC has he mentioned Verrills playing less minutes than he would have liked

The way Robinson was speaking about Friend in that 2019 Grand Final Review video solidified him as a pick for me

Was basically saying when Cronk got sin-binned that Friend had to come on immediately because he could do the work of 2 people in the middle
