Re: NRL Fantasy 2020 Part 9
Watched the Panthers/Eels trial along with Charity Shield along with many beers
My takeaways from the games including some fantasy relevant players
Panthers off season signings of Tetevano and Koroisau will pay dividends and end with a top 8 spot. Panthers last few years have severely lacked X factor at 9, and size in the middle. With both these problems solved look for a finals appearance
Aekins did not look as involved as you would want from a fullback. Will still make a decent amount of cash, however very minimal chance he steals the job from Edwards
Luai was completely passive as the 2nd half/3rd play making option. I do not want him in my 17 to start the year. Cleary completely dominated the kicking while on the field and will have a safe floor
Koroisau is a must. Floor is slightly above 40 with ceiling in the 50s. Pretty close to a final 17 keeper
Issah Yeo is an awkward price point but seems to be the defensive anchor. If he manages to pick up starting lock(JFH prop) he will be in my team. Should be good for 35 tackles and 80 metres a week as base.
Burton looked better than both Luai and May. If he grabs the 6 spot it will cause a few headaches for Cleary owners.
Mitch Moses has had nothing change. Continuing to dominate the play making and the general play kicking floor is still in the 30s with ceiling as high as anyone
Matterson looks a better real life player than fantasy player. Eels simply spread the ball too much for him to score the points I would want at that price point
Nathan Brown was the best forward on the field. Will go close to an origin jersey this year if fit. Too many good forwards in the Parra rotation to reliably choose him in fantasy
Latrell Mitchell hasn't changed one bit. Rabbitohs looked noticeably better once Johnston went to fullback. Fitness not up to standard and only good for 3 runs a game. I don't recall a single run out of dummy half coming out of trouble
Burns looked purpose built for fantasy. Don't let the stats fool you, he had 5-6 genuine tackle breaks that weren't paid
Cook has surpassed Smith as the best hooker in fantasy. A clinical first half performance saw him with 38 points at the break. Running game still at the peak and controlled the ruck well.
Su'a early HIA so not able to tell his impact. On the fence for me but a likely TLT casualty as better options come along
Murray while dangerous on the edge was a shell of his damaging best. One of his best assets(passing game) taken away not being able to put the middle forwards into gaps
Knights did enough to still be under consideration for me. Other options are preferred but if TLT doesn't work out the way I hoped he might be in my team post lockout
Bench(Sele, Mago, Koloamatangi, Amone) looked much better than I expected. Sele not currently in the system, however if he comes in at base he is straight in my team. Bench should do enough in reasonable minutes to keep Souths in the fight. Mago the best ball runner and Sele the best defender
Lomax looked like the worst fullback in first grade. Out of position and missing crucial tackles. No way I am taking him in my 21
Merrin had a short stint but I saw what I wanted. Looking for work with 2 hit ups in a set and plenty of defensive work. If starting lock will be in my team
Pereira>Williame>Ravalawa>Saab. Looking like we will be starting with Williame(not in the system) as our base WFB at the Dragons

I would really like to downvote that downvote. Nice summary! Any thoughts on Hughes?

I'm not offended but I don't like aggressive post like yours.
So tell me why "Lomax is an overhyped bum". Why? What are your reasons for this?
Then you might have a basis to call me a wanker for starting with him then.

Anyone get a sense of how G. Williams went? Seems like all the halves score well below what they were supposed to. A. Taylor as well?

People have spoken very highly of him....
He hasn’t accomplished anything football wise especially fantasy wise....
Hence his low price....
If he had accomplished anything he wouldn’t be in everyone’s team....
So the first fact supports the second....
I didn’t congratulate anyone for picking Nikora last year either....
Unless you’re a relative of Lomax I don’t see how it’s “aggressive” to you...
Even then calling someone a bum is mild at best....
I’m glad you’ve told me where you stand and now I’ll tell you where I do....

Was so looking forward to trials and made things worse. Terrified of no Haas and one or both of Cleary Moses. D Fifita question mark but 1 game. Laui and Lomax were gut feel drops before tonight

But strongly considering Bird (I think he'll average high 40's at fullback)
