Not sure what the point is even in a Lomax, other than his DPP

In his only game at fullback he scored 35. If he can average that, plus kick goals, he is good value.

If 35 is the higher end of his scoring, he is not great

I don't see the value in Staggs.

He scored 60+ a bunch of times in the run home last year, but 3 of those 4 big scores included 2 tries. Without tries he tends to score sub 30.
Is potential goalkicking really enough to make him worth it? or do people think he'll be scoring a lot of tries this year

Yeah, Staggs' floor is pretty low too. I don't see the interest.

24 tackles none missed at FB seems a massive outlier

I think the thing that interests people is Seibs or Oates can’t remember said they want croft giving Staggs loads of early ball to give him heaps of opportunity. So the prospect of extra metres plus TB’s and GK.

Not a lot of chat re Brimson and his back injury. Holbrook seems concerned about him for round 1. I think I'm going to give him a miss, that spells problems for me.

He is pictured in yesterdays training gallery albeit in a pink vest (i assume non contact)

What are people going to do if both Drinkwater (pec) and Brimson (back) miss R1

Bit worried as Drinkwater also missed start of 2019 with pec injury while back injuries can be bit of problem (D Brown, ARey)

I haven't had Drinkwater at any stage yet.. I removed Brimson yesterday, running a few cheapies that have questionable reliability

Every coach wraps their players during preseason. They aren't going to come out and say "Croft is shit we are dropping him to reserve grade"

Haven't been a fan of Brimson all preseason and this won't change anything for me

Not really looked at Staggs but if add difference of Isaako GKs less Staggs last season his average bumps to 40.5 and priced at 33

They both play early in the round which will help if they are a late out

Like ms said, quotes like that are a bit like "training the house down" or "I'm working on my offload" and I'm not sure they will translate into any meaningful on-field difference

Sounds like Morris to Roosters is inevitable.. seems like Sharks are waiting on some clarity re their other injury problems

    https://www.smh.com.au/sport/nrl/why-round-five-could-be-pivotal-date-for-josh-morris-future-20200303-p546j6.html

Sharks chairman: “If that’s to change between now and the next few weeks, then so be it, it changes. Where we sit here today, we have Josh in our team. He’s a professional and he’s very much a part of our squad.”

They still have cap problems and someone will have to go. Good luck getting rid of Moylan or Dugan though.. unless they go for a medical retirement.

I hope on this basis Crichton doesn't get DPP round 1

Apart from the centre problems it boils down to this for me.

Moses + Aekins vs Ponga + Mann.

With Brimmo looking in doubt, I've decided to change my back 3 to Turbo Papi and Aekin. DCE said he's been fine since December but not sure why he didn't partake any of the trials?
