Has there been anything further about Tex Hoy potentially playing in the halves for the Knights instead of Mann? Or was that just idle chitchat?

Hoy had a bit of a run at five-eighth on the weekend. Coach said if he had a crystal ball he would have trained Hoy in the halves ages ago.
I'd say Mann will still be 6 to start the year, but Hoy may get a run later on

Happy with team bar base WFBs. In reality would rather have base fullbacks than miss out on guaranteed points in other positions.
Shiba and Kennedy have just as much chance of jagging 30-35s than Brimson, Drinkwater, Aekins etc.

Grant & Rudolph (& maybe Musgrove) are bench players IRL therefore should not be bench players in your team...only EMG at best.

How much cash you got left after this draft? It feels like you haven't spent it all...

I wasn't really keen on Aekins to start but you have to remember he came into Panthers' team last year when they were absolutely tragic (came in when they were 14th and they hit 15th in next 2 games) and played in 3 losses against Rabbitohs, Raiders and Tigers where they scored 18, 12 and 4 points and he averaged 29.7

    https://www.smh.com.au/sport/nrl/why-round-five-could-be-pivotal-date-for-josh-morris-future-20200303-p546j6.html

Sharks chairman: “If that’s to change between now and the next few weeks, then so be it, it changes. Where we sit here today, we have Josh in our team. He’s a professional and he’s very much a part of our squad.”

They still have cap problems and someone will have to go. Good luck getting rid of Moylan or Dugan though.. unless they go for a medical retirement.

Bit of a meal here for anyone interested, take it with a pinch of salt

The so called 'cap problems' are based around this
You need to have 29 players registered by round 1, with Hunt/Rudolf/Hiroti being 27/28/29 players added just recently after the trials on earning minimum 1 year contracts
Now they are under the cap but have until the June cutoff to register a 30th player
So everything is very normal so far

Most clubs leave this spare 30th player in case a junior kills it or someone comes on the market (Usually upgrade someone in June worst case to fill this spot worst case)
Then any spare war chest cash they had saved is used to upgrade other existing players front loaded.
A lot of things happen you can't predict so the salary caps are in constant motion (Unless you are the Titans and can't spend the cap)

The issue is the Sharks don't quite have enough to do this June Minimum player upgrade and I believe are a few grand short of this
Though this is only minor and to the NRL a non issue, as there are other factors like Cameron King injury etc

It's fairly normal for clubs to do this but then you have various agendas in the media/Politis influence pushing this that they have to shed a player (Purely an angle to get them their man)
It's the same reason the Roosters get rid of Mitchell (CTR) and spin it so they look good, then spin it that the sharks are bad not letting Morris play with his brother.
You can't blame Morris now as he will probably want a better chance at a ring with more third party payments but the sharks need him too
The Roosters (Politis) are the masters of this, but that's why you shout Greenburg a preseason holiday haha.

My take on it is Morris got thrown a lifeline by the sharks after being unwanted by most clubs (Including Roosters who had signed his brother) but now with an injury and no Mitchell they turn the screws to get their man
Though if Morris doesn't want to be there anymore then the Sharks are probably resigned to the Roosters getting their way, so simply stalling for clarity on Dugan/Moylan
Plus is also gives them a few weeks and a chance to see how Kennedy goes there and see if he is up to it then there is no issue with Morris
Meanwhile if the Roosters get desperate they may have to sweeten the deal and even exchange a player (Collins mentioned) or some sort of payment.

I won't be surprised if Morris goes there this year and Xerri the following along with signing Savea or anyone else they need, its just the way haha
But for now it makes it hard to predict when this will all happen, the Sharks don't need to do anything right now and are cap compliant right now
It effects fantasy in a few ways, but it will be messy and who knows when

Very good points. And a minimum of 6 weeks at the back too.
