As others have said there is no real on or off him.

He starts and hes good value.

    He doesnt and hes not.

Would seem like he wont get the gig with the way the trails have gone

It's the stage of the year, just before TLT we're all going a bit nuts.
Who are some different backs were looking at?

I really want someone from that rabbits left edge given how explosive they'll be with walker, murray, burns and Graham. Latrell should favour that side also.

Thinking braidon burns at centre and nofoaluma would've been PEFECT as a sneaky pod, but he's essentially the same price as Turbo and that just seems ridiculous going nof over turbo!

Yep just checked and he has the ability to average 50+ but is priced around 48.
So much value at hooker and 2rf, don't need rein early this season.

The Broncos will lose Fifita if they play him off the bench. He is an Origin player at 19, in a contract year with some big offers from rivial teams and the Broncos are going to stuff him around position wise. Considering how good he is and how capable of playing 80 high quality minutes the only reason I see why they would play TPJ over him is because they believe he has already decided to go elsewhere and they are trying to look after TPJ and keep him happy

Alright alright. After reading up on what I could and sussing out other's early draft teams, I have put together a team that would give the cookie monster a woody. I think it's inevitable to have Haas or Lolo just to stick the C on e very week. Who else are we considering as a captain option?

This post isn't directed at anyone in particular, but is a pet peeve of mine

We all get that you are excited about your fantasy team before the chaos of TLT rips it apart, but no one else cares about your squad made up of the same 50 players everyone else has and it adds nothing to the discussion.

If you genuinely want feedback on your team the best place is the assistant coach section (https://www.nrlfantasyfanatics.com/f11-assistant-coach)

You are much better off posting A vs B combinations or discussing the merits of individual players. Not only does it not clog up the forum with a useless post, you can also contribute something!

It's a bit dated but these are my thoughts on captaincy tier of players. tl;dr they will all average around the same pick the one you like best

Haas, Cook, Smith, McInnes, Taumalolo and Bateman are all going to average 60+ in non injury affected games, and are all going to score 55+ most weeks which is passable for a captain. I see Taumalolo with the highest ceiling(most damaging runner) and Smith with the highest floor(80 minute every week and touches the ball more than any player in the comp). You can basically pick any one of these guys as your captain and you are going to have a similar outcome over a 25 week season.

The difference from last season is Haas didn't have his "floor" game like everyone else - Cook 29 backing up from Origin(average 64 without that game), McInnes injury affected 9(average 65 without that game), Taumalolo injury affect 17(average 64 without that game), Bateman injury affected 20(average 62 without that game), Smith 42 in one of his worst career games 7 missed tackles and a penalty(average 63 without that game)

Thanks for that, so nothing has changed from last season. With McInnes and Bateman out a while, I guess it comes down to the big 4. Cherry, Teddy, Moses could be options if your balls are big enough but I think it's too early in the year to be taking such risks.

Brooks went mental at the end of last season. Anybody looking at him as an option instead of Moses or Cleary?

Not one for me mate. I think he is under keeper tier and I would much rather Cleary, Moses and DCE. I would probably go Arey for slightly cheaper due to fantasy pedigree

I have both mate. Both great options who should make money and put up good scores. If I had to choose then I'd go Levi but Carty should be guaranteed 80 every week on his favoured side. Very hard decision

Maybe if he was $100K cheaper (not that he should be). Too much risk compared to other halves at a similar price point.
If he goes off everyone gets him, if he has a slow start you're stuck with him alone

He stepped it up last season, he should be able to produce a similar results this season. I haven't considered him to be honest, I think his floor is a bit lower than the other guys.
On another note, it's tempting to pick a player by looking at the scores they posted at the end of last season. It's unlikely for players to repeat these kind of scores in the early rounds this season. We need to consider match fitness, changes in team make-up, and for some a change of coach, when picking a player.
