I am 80% tempted in just going Gun Gun and not worrying about that spot all year. If an injury comes up then I can easily jump onto the flavour of the month/another gun.

I think having gun (Burns/Bird) and cow (Williame) at Ctr should suffice. At best Williame jags a try against the Tigers, especially since Dragons always come out firing every year and you have a few cash rides. At worst he duds it R1 and if you are good enough should have some spare cash to jump on the next best CTR cow, be it Shiba, Crichton, Watkins... Another outcome could be Williame, Shiba, Crichton and Watkins all shit the bed and you get another weeks look and save a trade.

Wiliame's centre history is comparable to Shibasaki and Watkins, but he is much cheaper
I'd much rather have him.
i think playing 2 cheap centres is going to be tough though. You'll need to get lots of points elsewhere to make up for it

Tigers always gun it to start the year as well.
Last 5 years we are 9 wins, 1 loss over the first 2 rounds.
I agree on the 1 gun 1 cheapie for CTR though. 2 cheapies gives no wriggle room

Don’t forget Saab! Gees that Saints backline looks awesome doesn’t it!Fortitude wrote:All the talk of Lomax, williame, Watkins, shiva and chricton it really hits home that we are all considering giant douches and turd sandwich’s.
Not sure the anxiety levels can handle watching those schmucks run around in opening round. Will have to have a gun next to them and I’ll just use a trade to buy the one that inevitably I missed. Rather than possible choosing two disappointments and not being able to afford to get rid of the

Coming up to TLT who is everyone's 22nd player (someone you really want but can't fit into your current team)
For me, if I go with Taumalolo draft it's probably Knight and if no Taumalolo draft it's obviously Taumalolo

Wiliame comes in for me. My centres and WFBs are weak with Lomax, Aekins and Shibasaki all in there. Does anyone rate Kennedy's chances to make the Sharks team? I think he represents value but even with the couple injuries they have, im thinking he wont make the team. I'm very tempted to drop Luai from my 21 but i wont have cover in the halves then

Teddy would be my choice, but as that’s totally unrealistic then Knight. About 100k short.Camo123 wrote:Coming up to TLT who is everyone's 22nd player (someone you really want but can't fit into your current team)

RTS for me. Just cant do it coming back from injury, playing in a shit team and the fact that there is value in cheap WFBs. Before his injury he was in my team as a POD and part of me really wants him but i just cant see it working

Merrin (2%) vs Knight (17%). Within $8k of each other, both play Round 12 and both should get dual FRF/2RF.
Who would you pick and why? Anyone have both of them?

I wont be surprised if Host gets named 13 with Merrin prop/bench and Lawrie on the bench.

Early pre-season I had Merrin ranked higher.
If Knight's move to lock sees him get a good increase in role then it might push him ahead. Ideally you'd get a look for a couple of weeks to see how Murray is actually used and what effect that has on Knight.
Also depends where Merrin gets named - only on bench for charity shield - obviously he'll need to start to be considered.

Was there news of Stephen Crichton playing for the Panthers? Seen the name mentioned a few times as a cheapie centre, or are people confusing him with Christian Chrichton being named fit for the Dogs?

I would say Aekins because he'll either perform or you'll have to trade him out when Dedwards comes back. If Lomax underperforms he probably wont even do a good job of that and will hang around your team like a bad smell on account of having bigger priorities elsewhere

Levi for mine, slightly cheaper and he'd be a no brainer but can't seem to fit him in unless I sacrifice someone like Knight

Are you going to be less stressed seeing a Wiliame or Shibasaki score an 18, or a Burns or Staggs score a 28?
I’d be happier with a BJ and Ramien combo. Hopefully the boom busy equal each other out

When you frame it like that, surely shiba is the safer option.
I just recall his few games at the Eels he looked like quite a good player.
I have personally been very unimpressed with Shiba (In game) and don't see what the hype is about.
As a Knights fan I can tell you I'm not thrilled I don't rate him at all from what I have seen.
