yeah expecting this weekend is the time most places take to discuss it and monday will see a lot of changes. Lots of places i know have been told to prep for not coming in on monday if they're told.Revraiser wrote:Some work places prepping for lockdown last week from what I picked up,like alternate work locations and / or work from home tech being setup.

We could be waiting until at least July, meaning NRL will either be cancelled or will be played right through until Christmas.

It's possible to have 12 round season with a playoff system. At least we'll get to max-trade every week (if we survive).

My mother in law is massively at risk if she gets it. My father probably wouldn't fair too well either.
The annoying thing is going to be that if a bunch of stuff gets cancelled, and then things aren't too bad, lots of people will say "See - we overrracted" rather than think "It was because of the reaction that things didn't get too bad"
Happened with Y2K. The reason it wasn't a problem was because people put a lot of effort into making sure it wasn't a problem, and now everyone thinks it was a hoax. It didn't help that some idiots thought that toasters would stop working and planes would fall out of the sky (the equivalent of people buying 2 years supply of toilet paper all at once)
But there were a lot of serious problems that only got fixed because people put effort in.
i think by the end of the month, Australia is more likely than not to have restrictions similar to Italy. No mass gatherings of people, cut out non-essential travel.

Doesn't mean the least valuable (Okunbur) isn't thrown under the bus as a sacrifice with CHN staying quiet a few weeks to let it blow over though.SoylentGreen wrote:On the other NRL news of the last week - I just read that Rashays (the restaurant chain that pulled out of a major sponsor deal with the Bulldogs) has said that they will continue with the deal IF the dogs sack both Okanbur and CHN.
So in terms of Stimson job security, that's probably a $2million question answered.

In fantasy terms, if we play for 1 or 2 weeks, then a 2 month break, and then resume - would they make us keep the same teams, or would they start again with a new comp?

Interesting. If its only one round and then a break that long, then they might have some pressure to just reset the game and start from scratch.
And when I mean pressure, just people hounding them on fb/twitter/etc.
It kind of changes things a great deal because a bunch of players will have returned from injury by then.
