Just on this, we had local government elections in QLD this weekend despite a general feeling of unease about it.
Everyone was encouraged to use postal/early polling booths. From speaking to people who applied, postal voting forms didn't arrive on time and the two times I went to an early polling station there was 40-50 people lined up waiting to get in (to which my thoughts were, I'd rather take a fine than stand around in a fairly static line with a bunch of strangers for half an hour)
I did a little bit of thinking after reading that 40% of people had voted early and figured that if there was one booth per ward for early voting and 40% of people had voted it was going to be a breeze to vote on election day. Sure enough at my local polling station at 9.30 am there was me and one other dude voting at the 15 available booths.
People are funny....they will line up so they don't have to line up later despite the circumstances.
Lol hilarious

I envy you! So many great games you've yet to experience.
In times like these, you could put the "games are for kids/teens" opinion aside and pass the time a lot quicker. My old man wasn't interested in games, but ended up putting a bunch of hours into games like Moto GP and V8 Supercars.
NRL Fantasy is just another slow ass videogame imo.
.. regarding the US, I always wondered how a scientifically/technologically advanced country could still be so backwards in other areas.. then I started to notice all these American celebrities talk about their "strong faith" and various other religious references.. Turns out that over 80% of Americans are religious.
Suddenly things became a lot clearer as to why they still have an archaic mindset as a whole.
Doing ur best off-season stir the pot ?
Well played Sir.

The ARL Commission has ironed out a deal with its clubs and expects to finalise negotiations with its players on Tuesday but the pain — which has extended the length and breadth of the NRL — is only just beginning.
There seems little doubt the coronavirus will prompt the NRL to rip up its current collective bargaining agreement with the players and start again, meaning myriad matters will need to be renegotiated for 2021 and 2022 — the final two years of the existing broadcasting agreement.
Chief among them will be the salary cap. The Australian was told by some club bosses on Monday that the cap could be reduced by as much as 40 per cent — the equivalent of about $4 million — next season, leading to wages being slashed across the 16 clubs

Haha had the exact same experience.
Kept checking in at the early polling booths and they were heaving with people....drive up on election day and it was a ghost town - plus I got free use of some hand sanitiser!
In typical fashion, I imagine the people whinging about having to vote are probably those that are out and about in large groups at the shops and parks.

Too many intelligent people around these parts for that statement to light any fires I reckon
I was legitimately shocked when I saw that statistic though, would have never guessed it was that high.

Souths were always looking light on in the pack. I still think we’d have finished in the lower half of the 8 though.
I don’t think we would have enough cash spare for a quality second rower as well.
Arrow will be good but he’s not an elite forward for mine yet.
I don't think funding is a problem at all given the people we have lost. Latrell came at a heavy discount and we have bought Arrow for next season. Yet we had Inglis and Sammy medically retired to free up massive cap space- as well as Sutton, Gurgess and Douehi all regularly playing first grade leave also. If spare cash was a problem we wouldn't have offered Fifita $1.2M per season. Souths were definitely in the market for a big name, I was really hoping on Fifita or Frizell, but because nobody else worthy is really available right now perhaps we need to give Koala the push since I don't rate Lowe or Su'a.
Arrow is definitely an elite forward. He was groomed to replace Corey Parker until he was mismanaged and got the shits, probably one of the worst player retention decisions Brisbane made in recent times (although there have been a lot). I think he has more than proven himself. Along with Papalii he is the best forward in the Queensland origin team. I am not sure what else you want from him?

You are all overlooking the important point, which is that Jai Arrow has a horocious haircut

Where is this at mate ?
Bird photos look better if you can get eye contact like this.
It was taken where I take the vast majority if my bird photos which is at at Putta Bucca Wetlands. These wetlands are in Magical Mudgee.
If there's anyone that needs to fill in some time (that's most of us ATM) and likes to look at bird photos grab the occasional cuppa and have a browse of some of my photos here .... https://www.flickr.com/photos/132247206@N02/49715683416/in/dateposted/
Plenty of photos to return to a few times.

I had a nice gin earlier, sat in the sun - taking a break from home schooling. I starting thinking about whether a team of James Tedescos would beat a team of Damian Cooks. It was lovely :meep:
I'm going a little crazy without sport, pubs, fantasy etc

What about a team of James Tedescos vs. a team of Michael Jordans?
and perhaps more importantly, which team has the biggest dick? 13 Tedescos or 5 Jordans?

Personally, I find the fact that Cook is a former beach sprint champion only ever so slightly more interesting than the fact that Flegler is a banana farmer.

Teddy getting tackled by 2-3 cooks every set.
Cook would win and wouldn’t be close

Teddy' would be too strong for him to contain. His ball playing skills would create more opportunities to open up the defensive line.
Cook wouldn't be able to score points. Maybe put himself into a couple of gaps around the ruck but the cover defence would clean it up. Teddy's defensive positioning and experience at the back would be a huge advantage.
Cooks kicking game in stronger but mostly negated by the quality of the kick return.
Superior size strength and speed will win this game. Better ball skills and stronger competitive drive locks it in for Tedesco.

I think you've missed one of the most important factors.
Who is coaching each team?

I'm especially disappointed in CHN because he's the nephew of a good league mate of mine & the family were so proud of his achievements breaking into the nrl & becoming one of the best players. Now he's just pissed all that hard work done the drain. I don't know what both of them were on trying to hook up with school kids the phuckin low life mofo's. I've heard the arguments that they were of legal age & the age gap wasn't that great but the fact were they were school kids & any school now may not let any nrl club onto their grounds plus these 2 morons caused the Bulldogs to lose a $2m sponsorship deal.

Better kicking game. Better passer. Better tackler. Fitter. Equally as quick.
The cooks by at least 20
