Surprised so many went with Tony Martin.
He kicked goals for the Warriors but that was about it. One of the shittest wingers we ever had. Wouldn't have been in first grade if we'd had someone else to kick goals.

Yeah he is the one change I made to the team I initially sent to Milch, as soon as the rules made it that we didnt need to cover positions.

Anyway, people have been raring to go, so lets get things started

    Game 1, Round 1, 2006

Defending premiers Wests Tigers vs St George Illawarra Dragons

(Don't get excited about this video, there are not many games in 2006 with this level of highlights)

I was about to put the scores up, when I just noticed there's something wrong with the run metres

A heap of people have 0 run metres in my stats - can't believe I didn't notice that before. Will have to investigate

True to form I have 3 of them, Luke Burt, Matt Orford, Michael Crocker.

Surprised that none of them were picked by others. Orford went from being a good player at Storm (2005), to a star at Manly (from 2006), Luke Burt was good try scorer and top goal kicker at $459k. Crocker went from being often a bench player at Roosters (half his games in 2005), to now starting at Storm.

Also only one other team picked Carlaw, who appears under-priced with 2/3rds of his games off the bench in 2005 and now starting.

None of my NPR are playing in round 1. Sad I made a lot of assumptions and went with names I knew and then didn't invest the time to undo the damage. My hope is that if we do two rounds at a time they pop up sooner than later, lol.

My normal strategy to make money is shot from day one, though, so it'll be interesting to see how I fare. I guess every comp needs the token easybeat? Smile

Keen to see who cracks 100.

OK - there seems to be some incomplete stats - I am missing run metres for a bunch of players for rounds 1,2,3 and 5

Round 4 and rounds 6 onwards seem to be OK.

Unfortunately there's not much that can be done now as I don't know where those stats are available

I ruled out Orford because I thought his Dally M season was 2007

Funny, you watch the game and Benji had a blinder, setting up Whatuira and others, but in this scoring system only scored 6 points.

If anyone has any suggestions about how to handle missing stats, just shout out.

Note that it only appears to be an issue for a few of the early rounds

You could assign players the average for the stats you have for each position
e.g. the average metres for that round for people playing CTR (but with 0 mg) all get the CTR average?
It's not perfect, but could be more equitable than scoring 0 metres each at random

I was at this game, I was sitting in the corner Crockett scored in, i remember being keen on him for fantasy, then he started off the bench, but came on and scored a try with just about his first touch in the game.
