Thanks Matt. Specialist number 14 then. Means Soward could be in and out of the starting side but since he doesn't score that great without tries and starting, I think I'll flick him.

If he was running onto the field yahooing and screaming like he did with the Panthers back then in 2006, then that's reason enough for me to flick him.

One of the mistakes I realised after round 2 was that I thought I had picked pre-Warriors PJ when in fact in 2006 he'd been back at the Eels a year already Sad
He hasn't been terrible and has been consistent but that pre-Warriors PJ was one of the best hookers going around at the time (and for the Warriors, too)

FFS: 13 players pre trades. I think I may have got my team mixed up with MS's shitto comp.

Early entry for worst trade of the year: Greg Bird traded in week 3 [Could have bought in pretty much anyone]. Scores of 26, 19 and now injured.

Mainly known for his time in the play making roles(hooker+halves), but the bloke revolutionised the utility

    78 starts at hooker, 60 off the bench, 48 halfback, 43 five-eighth.

    What a player

NRLFF 2006 Fantasy thread - Round 5+6, I love fullbacks - Page 8 Empty POD Champion of Champions

The Inaugural POD Champion of Champions

Do you feel like 2006 is already starting to pass you by?

Are your creative POD selections failing to get the acknowledgement they deserve?

Do you want the chance to outshine Verbal in a Fantasy based comp?

Do you have what it takes to be crowned the 2006 POD King and Champion of Champions?

Well here it is, the ultimate POD championship:
*In this competition All POD's are players with less than 10% ownership (i.e. 2 teams or less own them)

cheer  You get 1 point for every POD you play in your 17.
cheer  You get a bonus point for every unique POD you have (i.e. you are the only owner).

cheer The top POD player scores are ranked each week and win points based on their scores relative to their priced average.
I.e. a player priced at $300K has a priced average of 20. If they score 30 points, they are 10 points over... this is so cows have as much chance of winning a round as a POD gun.
    Top overs score as follows:
    1st place: 10 points
    2nd 7
    3rd 6
    4th 5
    5th 4
    6th 3
    7th 2
    8th 1
cheer You also get a bonus point for each unique player you own that makes the top 8.

affraid You lose points for owning the worst performing PODs:
    4th last -1
    3rd last -2
    2nd last -3
    Last place: -5 points

Gone a different route and not bought Cam Smith?
cheer You get a point for not owning of popular players (greater that 67% ownership).
For Round 1 this was anyone who didn't own Cam Smith or Greg Inglis

This isn't a new comp, it will be run on your existing team each week! (So you don't need to do anything!)
I've run this on Round 1 so far, and think it could be an entertaining comp (I'm running 2nd last after the first round).
Give me a thumbs up and if there's enough interest I'll get this going and try to release a score up date each day so we're caught up ready for R5 & R6 this weekend.
Or let me know what you think!

In hindsight with the scoring system being closer to Supercoach I should have loaded up on backs. Gasnier and Sing have killed it on the back of plenty of tries. What round do we get that Wildcard Milchy Wink

I guess the secret is trying to predict if Gasnier/Sing will continue their try scoring run, or whether you try and jump on the next guy before his run of form starts

Corey Parker could be about to go on a run especially if he starts gk. He likes an offload as well.

To be honest I haven't looked at future scoring in that much detail.

I would have been close to starting with Steven Bell if I had a team in this comp, and he's started well, but might be too late to bring in now.

There is another guy I would have on my trade in radar for future weeks (based on my memory, not looking at stats) that hasn't been mentioned here.

I don't think he's going to be a regular moving forward. He joined the Dragons in 2007, and I don't remember him being established at the Roosters prior.

Who said this was a fun game ?
After trades this week I will have 13 players !!

    Bye; Smith, Inglis, Turner.

Players who 'should' be playing this week but are not; Laffranchi, Sherwin, Purtell.

Non playing NPR's; Norrie (2 games), O'Halloran (1 game), Davico, Talanoa.

    Leaving 11 fit players.

Trades will probably be Talanoa to Collis and O'Halloran to Tupou

    Bang

With the ban on all alcohol sales here, I can't even get drunk !!

Apart from Johns I don't think there is another half I want.

Ouch dude. Still can get a competitive score in this format I reckon if your players go boom.

I have Norrie too. What a potato.

There's a couple of players I'm keen on that turn up later this year that you would no doubt remember. Don't think either of them has been mentioned, maybe one of them.

      Current date/time is Sat Nov 23, 2024 7:42 am
