You would have to have an amazing team to be thinking of upgrading Papi

Its an easier step cost-wise to upgrade him to Teddy or Ponga than to try to upgrade Kennedy or Drinkwater who are both gaining cash as well.t43597 wrote:You would have to have an amazing team to be thinking of upgrading Papi

True. I think long term his prospects are far better than Kennedy and better than Drinkwater. Maybe i just rate him higher than some seem to. I'm aiming to keep him as WFB coverage for the whole season and i can only see his scores increasing from now on.

You can’t upgrade everyone to guns within 4 weeks. Even in shortened season have to play the long gamemattnz wrote:

Poor Hughes owners. He gave them the fuck you score before going out injured.
That wasn't a fuck you score. It was a Hughes Bruise. Got off him before my skin turned purple thankfully.

Does look like now could be the time to move on Latrell. Finally looking fit enough to get involved and execute properly
Burns vs Mitchell is tight but I have Latrell with the higher ceiling and could keep improving. GI had a similar start to life as a fullback at souths. How did his scores adjust? Before my time fantasy wise

Storm coach Craig Bellamy told ABC Radio on Saturday that Ryley Jacks was the favourite to replace Hughes at halfback but said he would consider switching Cameron Smith with Brandon Smith taking over at hooker. He will also consider handing an NRL debut to Cooper Johns.

I think people are still over-estimating how many true keepers they're gonna end up with in their squad.
Most of us don't end up with 17 "keepers" at the end of the normal season and this season has made things a lot harder to upgrade.

Correct. I run with a very similar high level notepad plan to what VK shared and one of the notes is that I need Grant, and one of Katoa or one of my next cashouts (Brailey, Kennedy, Rudolf) to be 17 worthy - in order to fill other gun slotsfilthridden wrote:I think people are still over-estimating how many true keepers they're gonna end up with in their squad.

If I want Teddy then he has to go. Ponga and Turbo are my other FB. I could go for Cleary instead I guess, but that means Drinkwater has to go.t43597 wrote:You would have to have an amazing team to be thinking of upgrading Papi

i haven't thought it through at all but is it as difficult as whats being suggested?
we've only lost 6 trades on a normal year (and 4 less rounds), and I reckon i used about 12 trades through bye period last year trading hard to jump ranks. i still got to a final team but i did run out of trades with 6 rounds to go.
additionally cows don't really appear due to origin period. eg billy brittain

He has a good attitude, just not a flashy player. Im still surprised that tuala has kept him out. Wont be surprised if he is back in that spot soon. If i had ctr cover i would have held him I think, but too late now

I think it could be easier this year without trying to maximise scores through a bye/origin period. But at the same time nobody is getting close to having their absolute best 17 either. So I think getting rid of someone like Papy this early is pretty superfluous. Worst case he’s like the 5-6th player at WFB, best case I’d say he’s 3rd.

The key to getting to a best 17 is having players that are either undervalued keepers, or going to increase in value. Most WFBs that people have at the moment are one or the other. Papy in 4 rounds has shown neither and is currently a wasted slot.
