One of the stats guys was on one of the podcasts last year. And one of the things they talked about is that they don't change the definitions of stats year to year because they want things to be comparable.

That's why I was a little surpised by the change in definition to missed tackle/tackle break when scoring a try was made this year.

I have to agree. Whilst I thought the try save was bullshit and inconsistent with previous ones given, complaining in here is the furtherest I would take it, I don't actually care that much, and they've set a bad precedent bowing to pressure to change it.

FYI on the difference between the Latrell TA and the Luai non one

Latrell passed the ball to Graham on the outside of his defender which helped give him space, the fact he had more work to do has (in the past) not been a key factor as Latrell assisted in the initial bust.


With Luai to Kikau in round 3, Kikau got the ball more or less straight in front of the defender, and then ran towards him on the inside. The pass did nothing to help create the space

That was my interpretation anyway. No doubt you can go and find examples to the contrary

The previous DPP rules of 4 starts to get DPP were brought in after Fanhub bowed to public pressure and gave Cam Smith HOK/HLF when he was named at halfback backing up from origin once or twice.

It was a shit decision to bow to facebook whinging then, and its a shit decision now.

Wish I had some confidence around Wakeham's job security. Getting him and playing him would probably allow me to bypass RTS and go straight to Teddy, which also saves a trade on Pappy to Teddy later on (means I keep Pappy which I'm okay with, for a back 3 of Teddy, Ponga, Pappy).

Also, on the topic of getting stats changed. A reminder that last year Kalyn Ponga was docked points for missed shots at penalty goal.

He did actually miss the shots at goal, but a quick look at the official scoring will show you that that doesn't actually cause a loss of points in fantasy.

They never corrected this. A 100% factual error.
Yet they've gone and changed a more subjective stat.

Turbo to Pearce is pretty tempting yet feels wrong haha

I think Taumalolo was stood on the wing for one set. That ought to do it if we complain long enough.

Hurrah to being inside the top 2000 for the first time this year! Trade regret from last week was bringing in Clune instead of Fog but it was mostly so I could get Teddy in. At least picking up Averillo 2 weeks ago has come up trumps so far. Turbo needs to go,possibly to RTS as if Teddy is out I’m playing one short even if I play HTF. Next 2 weeks are crucial as I’m already down to 14 trades. Any ideas here guys?

I’d go Talau (TLT) over Farnworth. Looked a more likely tackle-buster.

Pretty torn on my trades, leaning towards option 1 atm

Option 1: Turbo>DCE, playing Hammer/Farnsworth as WFB for 1 week. Next week would go Mann>RTS. This option leaves me playing DCE (60) and Farnsworth/Hammer(25).

Option 2: Turbo>RTS, playing Fogarty as 17th man. Next week would go Mann>DCE. This option leaves me playing RTS (45) and Fogarty(40)


Surprisingly the points work out pretty similar, option 1 likely to get me slightly more cash and won't have me watching Manly games from behind the couch
