Cover is going to be very important in the run home when coaches start resting players.

This week I have no cover at FRF/2RF/CTR, although Carrigan fixes 2/3 of those problems

Could do a lot worse than Talau if you dont' have other fires to put out

I don't need to trade at all but I'm now leaning towards turning Paix into Talau. His hammy issue is a little concerning though. I could wait a week but I'd play hiim of Crichton.

If I get Averillo and Talau this week I'll have 173k in the bank.

Next week I could do Leilua to Niu and Mann to DCE.

Following week Rudolf to Thompson and Best to Teddy, leaving

    Cook
    Haas Thompson
    Matterson Murray Katoa
    DCE Moses
    Averillo Talau
    Teddy Ponga Pappy

    Koro Grant Robson Carrigan

    Niu Crichton HTF Wiliame

Crappy NPRs but at least Crichton, Niu and HTF can be looped with Averillo, Talau and Pappy via Wiliame.

I think it will be close $$ wise. Anyone want to have a crack at the numbers?? It would mean I could potentially bypass RTS/Wakeham and go straight to DCE and Teddy. If the $ are too tight, I might be better of getting Talau and Niu this week and hoping another cheapie pops up next week. Thoughts?
You’d be happy running without halves cover?

    Trades I'm pondering
turbo + paix to Talau + Ponga (Rudolph starting this week)
Twal + Turbo to Mofo + Ponga

Yeah for Rabbit I was trying to work Paix out for like Niu, but the options to upgrade Katoa to aren't that great.

I guess something like Luai to Niu and Katoa to Murray or whatever could pay off. I might hold my breath and pull the trigger on something like that, but could turn out to be a flop if Niu disappears and Katoa returns next week and is one of those Kikau/RFM/Felise Kaufusi types that many regretted trading too early in seasons past.

At least picking up an actual gun SR like Murray et al. can ease the pain if Luai/Katoa ended up being trade-out regrets.

Curious to get some thoughts on my two options.

Option 1: Friend + Isaako -> Ponga & Cheapie (Farnworth)

Biggest issue I have with this trade is that I lose a borderline keeper in Friend. The biggest positive being I have $197k left over to go towards my HLFs which need quite a bit of attention. This does mean if Tedesco is ruled out I only play 16 this week.

    Option 2: Isaako + Paix -> Nofo & Nuffie (Niu) -

The biggest negative this week, is if I bring in Nofoaluma, I won't look to get Ponga this year most likely as I will have Tedesco, Nofo, and Pap with my HLFs needing to be adressed. It also leaves me with a measly $10k left This gives me $10k change, but means even if Tedesco doesn't play i have 17 this week. While also keeping Friend in my squad as well.

    Really appreciate thoughts.

Edit: Could also say fuck it get Lomax and pencil him in as cover and a long term 17th/18th man instead of Nofo

I could trade Luai to someone but then I have no halves cover, is that an issue? Looks like Mulvy might run without halves cover too.

Tbh though I’m now leaning towards playing with 16 this round and saving trades. That could change later tonight if I figure something out. I think taking the hit and going back 400-500 ranks may be best though this week and re assess next week.

I like option 2 with RTS instead of Nofo. Leaves you with a heap of cash left over, a good enough WFB line with Teddy, Papy, RTS and coverage this week

With Cleary and Moses, I wouldn't be too worried about halves cover. Couple of golden boys Laughing

If injury strikes, you should be able to trade them to another gun in 1 trade.

Not a fan of missing Ponga in final team. Ponga vs Pap has been a 30 point gap this season. Need to try to find a way to get him in.

Well I wouldn't be happy about it. The exact timing of trades would depend on how everyone goes this week and next and injuries of course. Ideally I'd eventually get some halves cover in somehow, but this stage looking to have bench as above and all my backline cover in NPRs.

I am running with 0 halves cover. Although I have Drinkwater playing WFB and 3 x WFB on my bench/EMG

Any reason to hold Luai if your halves atm are Munster, Mann, JMK, Drinkwater.

    Sorry if this is obvious

I need to double trade 2RF this week to field 17 😔

Can get matterson, however looking to see opinions on taking Tohu, Jurbo or maybe Murray instead just so find abit more value?

The other option would have to be pretty much RfM or anyone cheaper although I don’t think there’s really any other options..

He's not an urgent trade by any means with a ~25 BE.

If you can afford to hold him another week, always good to give yourself a chance at jagging a decent score and eeking a few more $ out.
