I am annoyed because I am well set up, but in saying that i am sure the reason this has been brought on is the sheer amount of injuries that has happened in the past few weeks and they are worried about losing numbers with people giving up because their team is decimated.

Craziness WTF
I guess I trade out Twal and Moses rather than holding. Unbelievable

Why wasn’t there this uproar when they didn’t restart the comp after the lockdown break then?
I heavily planned for origin and bye this year and spent weeks and wasted trades trying to field a team? Coming back and not restarting also helped some and affected a lot. Isn’t this the same thing?

Yeah but people who this really affects i.e. those who are playing to win, won't "give up" after some bad luck. If everyone is in the same boat it's fair play. With this change I see a very large disadvantage to those who sacrificed a little earlier and forward planned who are now behind the front-runners, the same front-runners who could very well run into huge issues in rounds 15-20 if they get unlucky then with no trades in the bank.KingTeddy wrote:
How would those who have max traded knew this was coming? Relax buddy. Gotta handle what the game throws at us, it's a good way to get more people playing who would have almost given up after the recent injuries.
I mean, I absolutely love this change, because personally it means I can still enjoy the game despite my horrid start (my own fault), but I can at least appreciate how frustrating this must be for others.

They didn’t thats the point but knew that max trading could potentially hurt down the track, they made that tactical decision like those who held trades did.KingTeddy wrote:

I’ll still play on but it’s pretty messed up. I guess it suits the casuals but most of the casuals are playing SuperCoach instead anyway.
Huge advantage to those that max traded and/or lost guns specifically in R7.
Huge kick in the teeth to those that saved trades and/or played with less than 17 in R6 but got through unscathed in R7.

TRADE UPDATE: To seal the deal with the game's new sponsor, Harvey Norman, NRL Fantasy has added two extra trades to your season total (now 30), with up to four trades available to use in Round 8. Those trades will become available on Wednesday afternoon.
WOW! Even as someone who has suffered every injury under the sun, this is stupid AF

Wait so does everyone get 2 trades added to their total trades now? So I go 14 to 16?

No it’s not can’t fucking plan for a global pandemic can you? Plus all the new rules and trades were clearly set up before the comp restarted. If they had said in round 8 extra trades will be available then it’s changes the tactical game beforehand.Mighty Fishes wrote:Why wasn’t there this uproar when they didn’t restart the comp after the lockdown break then?

Mighty Fishes wrote:Why are people upset at more trades?
Because we've spent the past few weeks trading based on having a limited number available. Made decisions on the basis that everyone we trade in might have to stay for the whole season. avoiding possible cash cows or short term prospects based on not wanting to get stuck with them.
Changes the game
This isn't some surprise situation. They knew after lockdown that the number of remaining trades wasn't a large amount, being willing to change after a month is bullshit. If they were happy with this possibility in round 3, not that much has changed to make it any different. Small squad sizes and small trades was a known situation. If they don't like it, change between seasons, not during one. Supercoach deliberately left the number of trades unchanged upon restart just to help people cope with
And this is twice now they've changed the game based on complaints. Rescoring Latrell is one thing, the impact to that was relatively minimal. But adding more trades is a massive change and hurts a lot of people who deserve to be pissed off
And now that the precedent has been massively set, how can we trust that they won't add more trades again closer to the end. Trading hard early and hoping for another bonus is a strategy that would be hard to argue against.

I'm guessing there will be a bit of backlash from it but they'll smooth it over announcing some small extra prizes or something like that.

Their problem is that they are pissing off the regulars to keep the causals.
This will do nothing to help them against Supercoach

It's probably benefits me, but is just so unfair to others. How it got through a first round of discussions is unfathomable and manifestly unfair.

Only the hardcore players will really complain about it, and those are the players who won't be going anywhere.

yeah to me it sucks but there is abit of an over reaction here... "we have planned and made choices based on the idea of this many trades" well yeah... i also had plans to have Turbo when i bought him, I also planned on having Capewell more than a week as well as Moses.... shit doesnt go to plan and you adapt... the best players will still win at the end of the day imo.
