Fifita isn't banking a 10 year deal though, its a one year deal. The money is coming for him in 2022 if he stays at the Broncos, he knows that, and that's why its an extremely tough call.

It's a 1 year deal if he signs with the Broncos.

He can get longer than 1 year with the Titans.

In that 1 year at the Broncos, he could get knocked out and never be able to play again, goodbye 2022 money.

It's a one year deal at both clubs. He doesn't want to sign a longer deal due to wanting out from his existing manager.

They said in the article he will be in Cordners jumper, would seem weird to change numbers for no reason.

Yeah that is weird, what's the go there?

He's anti signing longer deal because his family don't want the new manager he's got to get a cut because they don't think he's earned it.

That doesn't mean that option isn't still on the table, he's being presented with those offers, so that's still what he has to weigh up. Every scenario has pros and cons, hence why he hasn't made a decision yet as he weighs them up.

And as that offer goes higher and higher, the point where people draw the line between I don't want the manager getting a cut, and well this is too much money to turn down and we'll have to get over it obviously potentially moves.

Which goes to show he isn't really interested in "setting himself up for life" with this contract?

    Oh wait, no he hasn't.

I've at no point said he is interested in setting himself up for life.

What I've said is this article from Gus that apparently is so good, really isn't because he's saying that players are guaranteed to make a lot of money over their career regardless.

That simply isn't true, again, see Yow Yeh.

I don't think it matters what edge A. Crichton plays on because with Aubusson the other 2fr when it comes to attack they'll be hitting Angus as much as possible. Aubs is beautiful but he's slow.

Whether it is considered market value or not, if Fifita turns down an extra $525k to pay for almost half the amount, it needs to be investigated. I don’t care how much club loyalty or career outlook is involved. I still think something fishy is going on with Latrell’s contract for the same reason, and I am a Bunnies fan. You can crow about how money isn’t everything all day, but nobody turns down that kind of cash and if Fifita stay then something stinks at Red Hill.

I wonder if Angus will be against Hess. That will confirm me trading Hess out for sure.

Regulator wrote:Fifita can guarantee him and his family a huge amount of money for a very long time if he banks one of these big long term contracts.

It's no guarantee he is going to make a lot of money, his career could be ripped away any week he plays. He could take this one year Broncos deal, snap his leg next week and that's the only money he ever gets out of footy ever again.

I bet Yow Yeh wished he had the opportunity to bank that much money straight away.

    ok

all i've said from the start is that its not a clear cut decision. I can understand him taking the Titans deal, for sure. Can also understand him staying with the Broncos for now and re-assessing next year. While I hate Gould, the article he wrote sums up how I feel about it.

As I said, go back to the beginning, and you'll find my original point. Evidently that's proving a challenge for you, I'll leave you to figure it out.

Hint, my point is around Goulds comments, there's your treasure map.

Yes, he could get hurt and his career is over and he'll be 300k 400k 550k (less taxes  Evil or Very Mad ) better off if he does that at the Titans next year.

Hey guys need some advice...with Moses out for longer I’m going to trade him for DCE, but I need a centre to replace Fui....but only have 384k. Ideally want a centre I won’t have to trade out (big ask I know!). I’m thinking of going with someone who doesn’t really get mentioned - Waqa Blake....he’s got good job security and is the lowest prices he’s ever been. Has very low score on him but capable of going big....am I crazy to go Blake over someone like Talau??
