The C on Haas averaging 70.4 for the year is 140.8 points a game. The C on Teddy averaging 68.3 Is 136.6 points a game. I know one game you might nab Teddy for a 83 but you might also get him as Captain for his 30 point game. With someone like Haas his lowest score since starting as a prop is 51. You know you are going to get 50+ as a captain no matter what, with the ceiling of 100+. It’s a no brainer.

This is the same argument people would make as to taking the C off Cook and taking the C off Smith in years gone by.

As a side point Haas is 0.4 points per game off the best fantasy season of all time. Hayne in his Dally M season was about as peak as any WFB we have seen and from memory averaged 62. The high scores feel great but the low scores will ruin you

So me being ranked in the top 25% of teams is not nearly as good as I would have my math students believe?

Thought I was doing well Guns wise, but of the top 12 regulars, I don't have 5 of them...

if you want a non-Haas captain, Teddy is the way to go. I'm all over him and will be for a while with their draw coming up, he's just too good. He's only averaging 2 points less than Haas, and that's with his HIA-affected game as well as his customary round 1 low score. Take those two games out and he's averaging 82
    Teddy for captain tonight Beth?

It's times like this you need a mintie.

In all honesty if you are lucky enough to captain someone other than Haas for a 100+ score than you're laughing... keeping the C on Haas all year is the safe bet though

Looking at the Cleary photo, the C on him verse the Cowboys looks pretty good. Has that 50+ floor in him and could go pretty big.

My WAGS team has him locked in as captian. Was my first initial thought.

Probably Field. Young should have the highest mins/base but last week shows that doesn't mean much and Rudolf's new role might yield higher returns but who knows. Do you have a red dot you could use?

Thanks mate really appreciate it. Site's been up for 4 months and the NRL content for around 7-8 weeks now. Really trying to get more traction for it (and open to ideas on different areas to look in to within league - we've got play by play data too).

my tv broke wrote:Those captain percentages are pretty misleading as others have stated.

Last round still had 75% of the current top 1000 with C on Haas

    Breakdown of the top 1000

    Payne Haas 754
    James Tedesco 111
    Cameron McInnes 93
    Nathan Cleary 12
    Damien Cook 11
    Jason Taumalolo 8
    Angus Crichton 6
    Apisai Koroisau 1
    Tohu Harris 1
    Daly Cherry-Evans 1
    Moeaki Fotuaika 1
    Harry Grant 1

Note this is the current top 1000 but their teams from last round. You cant pull data on team changes for the upcoming round

*if you have coach you'd be able to see exact live figures (i think??), but that info is going to be diluted by dead teams/etc, so pretty impossible to make much from it.

This is awesome. Do we have access to top 1000 ownership % too? I was thinking if you saw a player who is low owned in the top 1000 and then captained him that'd be a great way to (potentially) get a big leg up. EG. Even thought only Lolo has only been set as captain by 8 people, he might have a really high ownership.

If you go say Crichton and barely anyone in the top 1000 even has him, you get 2 * his score when most are getting 0.

Poorly worded, but something to think about?

Was a Bye round and to help even more was the only one to captain him that week just to add to it.
3 tries helped him boost this score massively and gave me a big rankings jump that week
One of those one in a million gut feelings that can't be beat when it pays off and something I will never forget fantasy wise
Also against the Warriors who traditionally do quite well in the byes

Haha some people have large pools or are tinder gods, I have this...... Didn't even have weekly prizes back then so a screenshot wallpapered on my ceiling and on the toilet wall will have to do.....
