Seibold confirmed Herbie Farnworth had failed a fitness test after suffering a bad cork against the Bulldogs and Richie Kennar would come into the side at centre to face the Wests Tigers.

"Lodge and Staggs we are hoping to be another week or two away, fingers crossed they might be both back for next week.

"Jake Turpin was able to do some skills today so we hope he will be available for selection next week. If not, definitely the week after.

Titans fullback AJ Brimson is on track for an early return from a back injury and could be on the field again in the middle of August after initial fears he would not return this season.

Anthony Seibold confirmed back-rower David Fifita was "still a couple of weeks away" from his return from knee surgery, one of several front-liners in Brisbane's crowded casualty ward.

Wests Tigers duo Alex Twal and Robert Jennings could both return from injury next weekend.

The club confirmed on Wednesday that Twal is "on track" to face the Eels in round 11 after the workhorse lock was hurt his knee in round six.

Brimson could be an interesting boom/bust 17th/18th man option.

Titans don't have the worst run home either actually. If he's back mid-August it'd be Raiders, Dragons, Bulldogs, Broncos, Manly, Knights.

Was actually thinking last week it’s weird how you don’t see many newbie questions nowadays.

Figuring there are so many pages and so much information out there as opposed to 10 years ago. Probably my the most common question in the early days was “what are base stats?”

The other reason maybe that Fantasy isn’t really attracting that many new players.

Aren't 99% of the people here involved in finance/computers haha ? (Myself excluded)
Didn't watch much league at all until I came to Australia about 10 years ago with nothing more than a backpack, never played the game, left school at 15 and no finance degree in sight.
Closest thing to a pool I have is the puddle the dog made near the back door.

I feel way out of my depth compared to most with statistics, spreadsheets, trends analysis, graphs,Stock market principles, day trading etc

But I see things ok, and if I can without all those real life money ball advantages that most do with their day job, then no reason most can't see the same.
Or for you computer money nerds apply that financial shit to NRL fantasy haha

Ponga Yeo the Mann wrote:You guys are right we do brace or splint for minor injuries

Most common thumb injury is an UCL injury at the base of the thumb when it kills pulled back behind the rest of the hand

Players play through them all the time

Can't see that splint (I enjoyed "splinter" but it's no dillinger from me last night) very well but the worry with that type is a fracture

End of the day the truth will come out so have a contingency plan and don't rip your hair out

Dillinger was so good i used it later on! cheer

I'm an AFL man 100% and done AFL fantasy for last 3 years

Joined in NRL Fantasy this year to try to beat my mates who all live in QLD

I barely watch 1 game/week (only when an AFL game isn't on), have barely any idea of players names who aren't from origin, and yet am ranked 1,500 thanks to the help of this thread hahaha

So there may still be newbies, we're just lurking and learning

Looks like Fantasy Brothers putting it all on the line here.

Putting 'their' atrocious grammar on the line....and I've heard (from a source so secret even the Colonel doesn't know them) that they may not even be actual brothers!!!

It's a hot tip (hot like the fires of hell) so i'd say in this instance it's cupboard

Edit : This could cause some grief & bring down some wrath

I mean, I tick both cliché boxes of being in finance and growing up with league, but knowing the real life game can sometimes get in the way of fantasy decisions. It's almost like I run an ethical investment portfolio and while I know Lachlan Lewis gets mass kick metres and Wade Egan is a cheap starting hooker I won't be investing in them thank you very much because they morally devalue my whole portfolio. For a long time I avoided the Turbos because Manly players have to jump through extra hoops of due diligence to make the cut.

Clinging on to the fact that the thing about ethical investments now is they generally outperform the market.

Two sources is normally compelling but it's still only being reported by "NRL Fantasy Brothers" and "Wacko". Can I at least get Danny Weidler up in here?

DT Late Mail is hedging their bets

"Matterson will be given another 24 hours to prove his fitness before the Eels make a call on his availability."
