    Eels: Ryan Matterson looks set to be ruled out of Saturday's clash against Manly due to a thumb injury.
    The Eels are hopeful the star second-rower will only miss one week, with late-blooming 28-year-old Andrew Davey in line for a potential NRL debut from the bench.
    Brad Takairangi is expected to replace Matterson in the starting side.
