It's surprising how much of a difference fitness training makes. Look at the Knights and Manly this year as an example. The squads are still incomplete, but O'Brien and Hasler make sure the yards are done in preseason to have the players up and ready to go during the season. The opposite to this is the Cowboys and Broncos. On paper both should be top 8 sides, but line speed disappears after 15 minutes of the game

I agree 100% usually the top teams are the fittest teams. You can have a bunch of average players but if you get them super fit then as at team they succeed because they are able to do the 1% plays. Remember that rumour going around that the Broncos players were all going to Corey Parker's home to do fitness during lock down well it must of been false or if true they didn't do much training.

Yesterday the Titans forwards were trying to swap sides once the opposition had kicked downfield, instead of getting back for the next offensive set, some of them were placing themselves in the Storm defence without even having signed a contract or checked the actual teamsheet for the day. The guile !!

Talking about 1% plays T. Peachey is an example when a player doesn't do the 1% play. When JAC got that intercept try this happened:
    (1) Peachey flings out an arm in a pathetic attempt to tackle him & misses when he should of dived for the legs. That required extra effort.
    (2) He starts chasing but then gives up after about 20 metres. Sure he was never going to catch him but there was no extra effort to show at least he tried 100% to get him.

The guy ranked number 5 has the following team:

    Koro
    Haas, Klemmer
    Havili, Carrigan, Tolo
    Cleary, Luai
    Niu, Smat
    Teddy, Ponga, HTF

    Friend, Cook, Robson, Grant
    Lucy, Averillo, Paix, Field

What would you do to get Lucy's score?

I'd probably get rid of Paix for a red dot with upside chance at a game later on. Someone like Blore, Johns, Hopoate, To'a, Smith-Shields, Metcalf, Lussick

Assuming he has enough trades that he planned to get field out I'd consider moving him on now to bank ~120k, take the price rise from Lucy and get the points

Seeing a high ranked team like that reminds me that it's a marathon and not a sprint. 4 HOK bench, only one gun HLF, poor CTR/WFB coverage. Averillo and Paix dud cows while Field is going to be done soon.

Lot of potential for things to go tits up.

Yes he is, guess it would have to be Field.

It's a tough call, because you assume Robson is going to score 60 odd and he is the bloke being replaced. I assume this guy probably only has 7 trades left, so you would be putting yourself in a terrible spot for the sake of 40 points with 10 weeks still to play. You can probably find 4 points a week with a better trade

I'd probably take the risk with the points in hand, but it's a shame he didn't set up his bench better. If he had another half instead, it could be Luai that misses out

Why that no. 5 ranked guy played Havili over Lucy in the first place is a selection error on his part. Lucy playing 80 mins vs the poor performing Broncos with no Brooks starting or Havili who would only play 50-60 mins with a hooker on the bench even though he played 48 mins.

Yeah the answer is Field/Luai out for a red dot, since both done as cows soon, then reshuffle team so either Robson or Koro is NPR.

But he’s probably max traded or close. And it’s probably only 30-40 pts lost. So maybe not worth it? Dunno, never had this kind of luxury befall me before.

I'd probably sell myself on Luai/Field to NPR. That score from Lucy probably bumps his price another 60k that you didn't expect, which is probably about as much cash as either have left. You are now just reliant on Lucy to make that cash instead of one of the cows

Although he probably doesn't have the trades left to be moving out Lucy now
