It's surprising how much of a difference fitness training makes. Look at the Knights and Manly this year as an example. The squads are still incomplete, but O'Brien and Hasler make sure the yards are done in preseason to have the players up and ready to go during the season. The opposite to this is the Cowboys and Broncos. On paper both should be top 8 sides, but line speed disappears after 15 minutes of the game
I agree 100% usually the top teams are the fittest teams. You can have a bunch of average players but if you get them super fit then as at team they succeed because they are able to do the 1% plays. Remember that rumour going around that the Broncos players were all going to Corey Parker's home to do fitness during lock down well it must of been false or if true they didn't do much training.
