Since the majority of his owners traded in Teddy at 881k after his hat trick he has missed 1 game, averaged 53 and lost nearly 200k.

For reference you could have had Cook(857k), Murray(725k), Cleary(819k), SJ(727k), DCE(819k) or JTurbo(734k) who were all popular trade ins candidates that week and have outscored Teddy.

Hopefully this will be remembered the next time(next year) everyone wants to buy a WFB at a high price after a few tries

Titans prop Moeaki Fotuaika is facing a two-week ban after being charged with a crusher tackle offence in his side's loss to Canberra on Saturday.

That'll hurt a lot of fantasy goers with Haas, Mofo, Klemmer, Lolo all out.

Time to have my face glued to a computer or phone screen for 4 days while I contemplate 103,421 combinations of players I will never even trade in, just to be left with the 1 combination that will fuck my week up and force me into an argument with the Mrs, yet again, because my trade-in didn't score a hattrick and now its her fucking fault.

Unga bunga. Money is not everything at this stage of the season but only 3 of my 17 from the last round went up in value.

I thought having 4 trades at this stage of the season would be OK but with Fotuaika and Taumalolo possibly out, I'll have to think carefully about how to use them.

Problem with that is I had to buy WFBs at that stage with Drinkwater being shit and Turbo being injured. I had intentionally freed up money to afford Teddy at that point as well

I don't think many advocated for other WFBs being keepers like Edwards & Gutherson who have been more reliable scorers since that time or going for cheap cash cows as stopgap. In hindsight picking Lomax probably would have been best decision which would have seemed like an utterly stupid decision at the time

If same thing happened next year, I would probably end up doing same thing Razz

Is there an injury update on Koro out yet? Hopefully, that's my only worry for the week.

I'm glad I tried to limit my red dots. It will be interesting to see how many teams will end up running with 15 or 16 players in the last few rounds. I might be one of those the way players are dropping out each week

RTS has been pretty good, averaged 46.6 in that same time frame, but since he hasn't been rested he has basically scored the same amount of points.

Anyway, all good to say these things in hindsight. These keeper fb's do have long term averages and have shown again that eventually by year end they end up close enough to those averages.*

Think I'll improve depth this week and try to hold on with 1 trade left

Initial thoughts are Lolo>AFB and Niu>Latrell

Bit more depth at the back

If Koro and SJ are both out again I'll still be able to field 17(just)

I actually thought Haas would have been a bigger trade out, but that probably points to how many of the top teams are lacking in trades.

I agree with the sentiments about buying a WFB at peak price and not chasing last weeks points. I in fact paid 885k in round 8 when Harvey gave us extra trades, otherwise like you, I would have waited it out. The problem is though, none of the guys you listed play WFB. I knew it was overs for Teddy but can't say I really regret it, sometimes you've just gotta stump up the cash. He's played every game I've owned him and averaged 55.6 and I wasn't silly/bold enough to captain him. And given I already had HTF, Farnworth, Talau, I didn't want to spend a trade at WFB unless it was for Teddy.

Buying Teddy didn't knock me out of the top 100. The two bad trades I did the following week, followed by four injuries the week after that, followed by the Matterson dramas the subsequent three weeks, is what screwed me.

I was pretty openly against trading in Teddy(and Ponga) while they were priced significantly above their long term average. I grabbed Herbie as a cash out shortly after and got much better points per dollar which let me grab the other guns I wanted
