I managed to avoid a lot of injury carnage early, which played a big part in getting to the top 50.
But 5 of my last 7 trade-ins have subsequently missed games due to injury/suspension, which is the main reason why my progress stalled. Last week was the first time I hadn't been able to field 17 though
Bad/unlucky trades
Trading Drinkwater in for round 3 after the break probably the biggest mistake.
Zac Lomax was cheaper at the time, things could have been a lot different with just that 1 trade changed.
Other mistake was probably getting Mbye over Marsters as my last trade. Mbye in a vacuum was probably the better trade in, but it left me exposed with lack of coverage (especially as when Mbye was ruled out, the guy who took his spot in the 17 was the guy I traded out for him)
Other iffy one was Randall over Starling. I still think getting a starting hooker is better than a bench option, so next season i'd probably make the equivalent trade again. There was no whispers of Green to Newcastle at the time, that came out of the blue. And Randall got injured anyway
Trading in Munster, TTrbo, Latrell, ACrichton, Capewell all were short term due to injury but not a lot you can do there. With knowledge at the time they were all OK trades (maybe TTrbo was a bit of a risk given his injury history)
Best trades were getting Tedesco and DCE in early. RFM and Robson also provided good cash+scores and I traded both of them out at the right time.
Held Fogarty when some sold, but was one of many to ditch Kurt Mann perhaps a little early.
