CHN and Ryan James are the ones that interest me

Ryan James priced at 33, averages 50+ as a starting prop (and that is with the pre-2020 rules, could see a boost on top of that)
Admittedly as a Titan he played massive minutes that he probably won't replicate at the Raiders, but still keeping an eye on him.

Guler is a genuine plodder, Lui and James and probably Soli will start ahead of him. Cant see Guler making the bench. Also, Ryan Sutton in the mix too.

As good as starling went last year, I reckon they play Havili ahead of him, unless of course Ricky keeps running a back on the bench like he did a bit towards end of last year.

    My money is on

    Pap, Hodgo, Lui
    Whitehead, Tapine
    Young

    CHN
    James
    Horse
    havili

Personally wouldn't touch James. CHN will be gun if he gets time, having owned tapine for the whole of last year it was a bumpy AF ride. Minutes varied way to much.

    Was always staying there.

Talk of him playing elsewhere was a ploy by his manager for more money.

Simonsson should have a wing spot all year and at basically base price, could make some cash. Avgd 30 in 2019 on the wing.. just needs a few tries early to pump some cash

Yep lots will have their eyes on him and Niu.

    That’s a bloody strong pack.

How many mins do you reckon CHN gets?

Tapine finished the year at Lock last year and probably played his best footy fantasy aside, averaged 59.4 at the same time... Young also played prop/middle and looked really dangerous.. I don't see Tapine playing second row. He is too weak defensively averaging 2.4 mt's at 2RF, compared to 1.5 at Lock (with a game where he missed 7 tackles).

    I see it like this

    Papa Hodgo Lui
    Whitehead CHN
    Tapine

    Starling
    James
    Horse
    Young

How do we think the new rule changes will affect scoring?

Will we see some higher scores than last year?....

You’re probs right especially in regards to when they do and do not give 4 points for a forced turn over...

    edge backrowers...
I had a personal rule against that and now they are forcing me into it. Probably good for the game, but yuck yuck yuck

Actual NRL rule changes might increase scoring with more time in play (6 again for 10m infringement, PTB not scrum for kick in touch)

Wonder if injuries will still be incredibly high or if COVID break and adjusting to 6 again was major cause & therefore full off-season preparing for 6 again should reduce injuries to more manageable level

Doubt they'll be a 2 point FG kicked all season though

Yeah it's like the 20/40, not really a thing that'll happen much. I think a couple of half time buzzer beaters most likely. Although if a team does pot one to tie or win a significant game its going to be huge - replayed for years

I think there are more great value players this season than last year. Should see higher scoring as a result.

I can’t believe anyone was seriously thinking of putting James in their team. He’ll be lucky to make it to Rd1. I can’t believe Canberra even signed him.

Obviously if Cameron Smith hangs the boots up Munsters and Hughes’ fantasy stocks increase… BUT I wonder if they increase more than we are thinking?

Cameron Smith has averaged 135.1 kick metres per game (+6.75 pts/game) throughout his career.

Munster (50.1) averaged 182.9 km per game (+9.14) and Hughes (50.6) averaged 176.2 km per game* (+8.81)… *this includes a game against the Titans where he kicked 4 meters.

Grant isn’t a kicker as he only averaged 18.6 km per game. This means there is an extra 6.75 pts to be shared between Hughes and Munster, pushing that average up even further.

Now not only will they see more kick meters, we often saw Cameron Smith playing first receiver throughout multiple sets of every game. Grant is not a playmaker as such as Smith was, therefore, again Munster and Hughes will be spending even more time with ball in hand.
This gives them even more opportunities to create something for themselves and those around them…

Now 1 thing to add is the kicking tee. It appears Munster has been given the duties in the past; however, last year Papenhuyzen was second fiddle behind Smith when Smith was out/injured. Watch this space to see who wins this race..

    TL;DR//

No Smith means more kick metres for Munster and Hughes + more time with ball in hand so more opportunities. This means Munster and Hughes could push that 50 avg to 55+ possibly.

I think I want Damien Cook and it’s quite possible I’ll start with C on him.

Would like Angus as well, Lolo would be great but not sure I could fit him in......

Capewell if starting once again in the second row yes I got burnt last year but I may be tempted to start with him. Around 45 pts a week at centre for 500k or there abouts is very good!

I'd take the odds that Capewell won't have DPP ctr this year.

Not sure I am too keen on any of the Sharks pricings tomorrow?? Maybe SJ, without his injury R19 game he averaged 55.7 last year... could be a nice POD for under 700K to go against the likes of Moses, Cleary
