Anyone know anything about B Smith starting at lock and Finucane going to FRF? It was reported on another site.

Well NRL.com is now saying he'll get a release if he can find a gig playing hooker. Which I wouldn't think would be that hard.

Warriors should be throwing the dollars at him if that's the case because he will 100% get snapped up by a club and he's one of the top hookers in the game.

Yeah, his price immediately sparked my interest.

Is he though? We haven't seen him play 9 for 80 minutes every week. Not denying he's a great player but it's pretty hard to tell until he's going it every week.

I think Brandon Smith is well on the way to being the most over rated player in the game. Good ball runner but doesn't have the defense to control the ruck as a big minute 9. Round 8 Roosters vs Storm is a good example of this - Melbourne started with Cam Smith as 7 and Brandon Smith at 9. Roosters big middles were rolling dominating the ruck until about 30 minutes in when Cam Smith moved back to 9 and they used a running 6 with Brandon playing lock. The game swung and the Storm went on to win.
I'd easily pick Harry Grant over Brandon Smith and it looks like Melbourne is going the same way

That Smith stuff isnt really new, and Grant is 100% their long term hooker.
Storm would release Smith this year if they get someone worthwhile in return.

Funny that my season lesson was to pick halves who dominate KM and I’m leaning against that in early stages
What makes you want to lean against picking halves who get loads of kick metres early on?
I’m strongly considering Moses as he’s 200k cheaper than Cleary.....
I don’t think I’d want to go with 2 mid rangers so if I don’t go Cleary or DCE am likely to go Moses or Munster.

Currently thinking Munster who is somewhat dominant but not as dominant as Cleary/Moses/DCE (might have to overcome my fantasy grudge against him)
DCE still well within my thoughts, just interest is bit lower on Moses/Cleary
Mid-range HLF I pick (Brooks/Townsend/Morgan) will still be dominant at least

Re: NRL Fantasy 2021 Part 1 - Game on Mole
I've done next to no research yet but my initial thoughts are a Munster/Moses pairing due to price, and anecdotally I feel like I've seen Munster strip a shit tonne of balls and if there is a good HLF cash cow or two they can ride the interchange or NPRs. If Munster got GK that would be a bonus.

Im leaning towards DCE this year. No real reason. Last year it was unquestionably Cleary in pre season. Not about to consider an actual squad any time soon so we will see how the chips fall in a month or so

I felt lucky having Morgan early in the season last year coz he scored well and made money, but then he became a low scoring burden. Do you expect improvement from him this year?

In all seriousness Ipap may challenge Lane for a start. Lane was benched towards end of 2020 IIRC
Papalii sucks so I doubt it.

I dunno if he’s an 80 minute hooker, but I think he could be an 50-60 minute one with a spell in the middle and an upgrade for about half the teams in the comp on their current situation.
Warriors or Titans would both look much more likely for the 8 with him. Dragons if the McInnes to Tigers rumour is true. Bulldogs. Sea Eagles. A couple of others I’m forgetting. And I’m sure the Roosters could fit him in their cap somehow for when Friend misses half the season with his 488474793919th concussion.

I'd like to see the Titans get him, unless they have Smith up their sleeve.
