My reply to Rhinoceroo from previous thread.

Oh and 1st by the way Cool

I think RTS will score way more than 5 tries this year and will be sniffing around the ruck with plenty of chances to attack off this improved and big Warriors pack.

That’s why I picked him in my first draft.

Holmes I’m still a bit iffy on..... not fully convinced on him.

I usually buy RTS expecting him to score more tries because he's such a good player, and then he doesn't. Seven tries in 2019, three in 2018, and those were full seasons.

I'm not fully sold on Holmes either, could go right or wrong but if it goes wrong there's not terrible downside at his price.

RTS carves it up in odd numbered years and has lulls in the even years in between. That doesn’t convince me to get him in fantasy but he’s going to be good this season

They've got ownership percentage up. Here is th epopular day 1 team

    Grant
    McInnes Tino Taumalolo
    Riki Fifita
    Cleary Munster
    Averillo Bird
    Tedesco Trbo Moylan

    CHN Watson BMM Brailey
    Liddle Blore Roberts Niu

This is $1mil over the cap, can't be bothered working out cap compliant team.
But a valid team would include people like Lachlan Lam, Sam Walker, Milford, Ford, Hetherington, Schuster, Davey , Simonsson

Popular cheapies that I assume are just favoured by the auto-pick algorithm (or by having names similar to other players)

Jack A Williams, Keenan Palasia, Joshua Cook, Greg Marzhew, Franklin Pele, Darius Farmer, Zac Cini, Ben Trbojevic, Dean Hawkins

I shall learn my lesson and get on all the popular cheapies this year so I'm not left with egg on my face.

Easy to say in hindsight, but at the time it is probably still the right call, and even after a couple of weeks it appeared as though Lomax would probably be a dud.

Surprised Grant is so popular. He was sneaky on my list instead of Cook due to a few lower minute games where he spent time on the bench

I had this in my lessons learned from 2020

    - If you have a 50/50 decision between a POD and a popular player (JTurbo vs SJ) go with the popular guy. If they get injured everyone suffers with you, instead of suffering alone and burning trades

I went with Watkins instead of Lomax which was looking like a master stroke until he went back to Super League

If your mistake last year was not picking Zac Lomax, how do you rectify it this year?

Buy Zac Lomax? Buy the cheap dragons CTR? but the cheap CTR that will play the whole year uninjured putting up monster scores?

If you take out Grant's games under 70 minutes his average drops by half a point.
Potential increase in minutes played isn't really a consideration in going after him or not. Decision is whether you think he can get more attacking stats playing for Melbourne.

    5.1. SELECTING A TEAM
To create a full and valid squad you must select a total of 21 players. To create a valid team, you must select exactly 3 Fullbacks/Wingers, 2 Centres, 2 Halves, 1 Hooker, 2 Edge Forwards, 3 Middle Forwards and 8 Reserves made up of 4 Interchange players (numbered 1 to 4) and 4 Emergency players (numbered 5 to Cool. You will need to select your Team within the initial $9.9 million Salary Cap. Players who are listed as being available for two positions can be placed in either position.

I think if it ain't Cook, its Grant for me. I will probably convince myself to go Grant anyway by the time round 1 rolls around when I'm trying to find that extra 30k to fill a cashie spot

Yep, this is about the only take away. You can't win the comp in the first six rounds but you can kill it with dud "pods". You make your big moves mid season

I clicked the autofill team four times and they all had Marzhew, JCook, Farmer and Cini (and McInnis and Tedesco) in them.
