This is why I love having origin and byes in the middle of fantasy season, so many different approaches. My view is that the second bye will be the bigger problem. By that stage you are trying to bring in final team players and there's not many that play rd 17 beyond Lolo, maybe Tohu, maybe SST.

Angus- origin? SJ - probably not in top 3 halves
Friend, Kapow, ARey, Flanagan, RTS - all second tier really.

I'm probably going to target round 13 and then just start bringing in final team guys, second bye be damned, and if trades permit, a couple of strategic sideways trades in key positions over the origin period.

I got four origin players including TTurbo but I am not expecting him to make it that far anyway and if he does that’s a win for me. Tedesco just seems like the best option for my third WFB as there isn’t that much value and a lot of guys in the tier below I just don’t want to pay that much for just to upgrade later. I like the look of Fifita and Munster as underpriced guns so I think that is about right

    What's your rank "typically" though?

One seems absurdly low. What's your plan for getting in Cook/Cleary/DCE/Ted? Just not have any of them until round 20 and leak points?

I'm in favour of minimising Origin players as a means to early bye planning - usually by placing a premium of Kiwis and Brits, but they're thinner on the ground this year and eight of last year's ten best scorers are Origin players. Of the Kiwis there's Lolo obviously. Tohu if he replicates last season. JFH and SST might be worth a look, but are they going to match the Origin Tino who's 100k less?

There's also the problem that if a non-Origin player - let's say Matterson - does what you hope and plays and scores amazingly then they might get Origin anyway.
The plan is to buy value when available. Saving trades now that others will need to spend pre-origin to bring in round 13 players. Allows me to use trades after origin that others won't have available, to round out the team.

Not worried about a player over-performing, scoring better than they are priced and getting picked for origin.

Mentions in this article that try saves that force error will count towards both try save and forced turnover.

That's not going to cause controversy at all Razz

A cool 9 points for a tackle, I've read the article and the first think I thought was tackle on the 6th and last, is that a forced turn over ?

    No

It’d be ones where they’re pushed into touch close to line or example with Keary over line and Turbo knocking it out of his hands

You have to use judgement because a lot of players pulled out with injury last year

Ponga, Fifita & Turbo are practically definite selections that missed out last year

With this year though it'll just be the 17 for QLD/NSW missing out rather than 27 man squads and it's only minimum of 1 game as 2nd Origin occurs on standalone Rep weekend (excluding players getting a rest, like Teddy usually does)

    Great reply, thanks mate

So back to your original point, 3 blokes put a guy over the side line, is it first to make contact, all 3 or nobody. Did that bloke drop off before or after he went into touch ? Fun times ahead.

It'll be a nightmare. 10 pages a game on here of people complaining that their player didn't get the points.

The NRL is on the verge of making the biggest change to its competition in 14 years, moving ahead with plans to add a 17th team in time for the 2023 season.
The Sydney Morning Herald can reveal the ARL Commission will make a decision on a potential second Brisbane team by June.

Fifita will be on the right edge.

Kelly played mostly (if not all) on the left last year, although they could mix it up this year, haven't heard. They probably have a few positions up for grabs in the backline with Herbert/Sami/Don/Thompson + Pearson/Spry all in the mix

    Go Crushers!

Seriously, about 20 years late. Need a game of footy in Brisbane every weekend (or more likely, every Thurs or Fri night thanks Ch9)
