Seriously mate don’t overlook purely based on positional need at start of season. All about money making and points. Brailey is an absolute goldmine

What are you expecting him to score though?
In my team I would have all of LAM, Liddle, Watson, Blore, Laurie, Davey, Hola ahead of him for points differential and all provide better positional coverage. They are all in the $2-300k range as well, less expensive cash cows to spend money elsewhere.

The difference is that an underpriced keeper doesn't need to be traded out. Short of a miracle, he won't be a keeper this season.

Perhaps I'm missing something but I don't think anyone is really expecting him to be a keeper.

I would rather spend more for someone that is a keeper in that position, underpriced and doesnt need to be traded out, McCullough is a good example.

You are also spending money on LAM, Liddle, Watson, Blore, Laurie, Davey, Hola
None of whom are keepers (maybe Watson, if he meets the upper end of expectations) and all of whom have less job security than Brailey.

I think I have the ugliest backline in history with Brimson, Drinkwater and Ramsey. Definitely not an oil painting by Rembrant

I dont mind Brimson and Ramsey at all.

Had Drinkwater last season and never will again. On the rare occasions that Cowboys were on attack he was fine, but in defence was really bad. Even if he gets a starting spot either in the halves or at fullback, there are no guarantees he keeps it if his defence is that bad again. Had 3 scores under 20 last season, which for his price is really bad when there are other better options in his price range.

There were rumours of Drinkwater replacing RTS next season. Really hope they arent targeting him, much better off developing home grown talent.

I would rather take a punt on Marsters or Holmes getting an upside boost from Payten, than Drinkwater.

In 80 minute games at Fullback, Holmes actually scored well, 43 point average last season.

Purely focussing on perceived value isnt much good either. If theyre in your 17 they need to be scorinf well. A team full of value isnt much good if they are scoring 100pts below par every week

I do agree that with his name being Jayden, that's a massive negative. Not enough to exclude him though.

No one is going to pick a perfect team to start. Every year we have players like Stimson and Levi that look like solid picks preseason before stinking it up.

So if I can lock in 13 points above price for anyone in my team I'd sign up immediately.

    Tempted.

The last few pages are interesting. My current four guaranteed cows are Turbo, JBrailey, Watson and Liddle. If nearly every other cheap prospect starts in R1 I guess I could consider not rolling with some of them. But to me, they are the four safe bets.

    Sucks for him.

Purely fantasy it might save people a bunch of pain. I was half half on running with him, at least now I can put a line through

Personally I think if you're not going to start with either Cook or Grant then Brailey, Liddle and Watson are your hookers. The only mid range hooker that would tempt me is Robson depending on the cowboys bench

I'd gone cold on him and moved to two centres with job security in Bird and Walker. Both are much too talented to be dropped (until Walker's court case)
