I really don't think you can go wrong with 2 of Bird (Would rather the other 3 than him), Walker, Roberts, and Hopoate. I wonder if Hopoate will go better this year in a bulldogs side with a bit more flair. His involvement in attack in the final trial will be the make or break for me.

For once I agree with Matt. Craig Bellamy couldn't coach Drinkwater to defend, Todd Payton won't be able to either.

I think thats the main reason Payton is looking at putting Drinky back to fullback becauseche doesn't like his defense at 6

I think they look a lot better with 7 clifford 6 morgan 1 drinkwater 5 holmes. Starting to sound like thats how rhey will line up with paytens recent comments.

Drinkwater easily the worst defender in the nrl

I think he will start the year at centre then move to the pack as he gains fitness

This will also give the Dragons a chance to ease in the youngsters

    1.Dufty
    2.Ramsey
    3.Lomax
    4.Bird
    5.Ravalawa/Pereira

When Bird moves to the pack Feagai gets the centre spot

    Sounds about right

Rava seems to have the spot outside Lomax on lock unless I mis interpreted Lomax's recent comments.

Lomax/Rava had a nice combo going last year until Rava was dropped and Dean Young started cycling through the entire top squad giving everyone a game.

I like Pereira too but assume Ramsey will get that spot. Which probably means Bird should start at centre because Ramsey/Feagai as a defensive combo sounds like oppo try bonanza to me.

Just catching up on the Lolo & McInness news after being out of the loop for a bit. Definitely makes MID tricky to start with. No McInness/Haas, Lolo, Carrigan all on less minutes, Crichton better served at EDG, questions over Tohu's role with lots of middle signings at the Warriors. There go all your 60+ avgs from last year to start with.

Do we still think 60+ will be keeper level for MID. I imagine Haas still averages mid 60s, but will anyone else? Not sure Lolo can in 55 mins. Is worth starting with a Jurbo/Klemmer who will hit reliable 55s in that case? I'm not sold on SST's upside, and everyone else is pretty much priced as is.

Brown averaged 58 in the back half of last year, so some value there potentially. Does he keep up those minutes/avoid suspension?

Assuming Momo gets the gig I think I prefer him over these 4 (although that 7 last year is pretty grotesque). Just because he's younger mainly and I see the others as old plodders (particularly Hopa). If Feagi gets there I would consider starting with him (and one of the others mentioned) with Nui as backup. After last years shit with Centers though that might be too risky

I had Rudolf the whole season last year and the way he plays he can rack up a few miss tackles which can be fustrating

I'll likely have all four. Watson in MID and Liddle NPR solves the crowded bench situation.

I really like the look of that. Solves the problem of left wing, we've struggled ever since Winterstein. Solves the problem of Drinkwater defence but keeps his skills in attack which are among the best in the game.

I currently have all four with Watson MID and Liddle/Lam toss up for 17/18

From the sounds of things our teams are very similar

Drinkwater's defensive awareness is pretty good. He knows where to be, he just can't tackle for shit once he gets there. This is probably from his time as a halfback in juniors. His attack is world class, up there with the best in those 4 on 3 or 3 on 2 situations. I think Fullback is his best spot
