I really like Saifiti. If I had to make one pick to elevate to top tier gun status in MID this year it would be him. 24 now so near his prime, touching on 100 NRL games, coming off another Origin campaign, no more Barnett playing big lock minutes, and now with the responsibility of captaincy. As you say, averaged 60 when playing 50+ minutes last year (avg 56 minutes in those games). Averaged 54 in base so no reason to think that's not sustainable.

It's not like they have bench forwards who demand huge minutes either. When on the interchange his brother averaged 40 mins, King barely averaged 20, and Sue 30.

Just not sure I want to go out on a limb like that to start the season. Can anyone talk me into/out of him?

Should certainly lock Laurie into everyone's team. Looks good enough for a spot in your 13 for decent scoring at a heavily discounted price. Makes Simpkin a no go unfortunately.

Agree, I may even go him as 3rd WFB after reading that it very much looks like Mbye to 14 round 2 onwards.

i dunno. priced at 50 probably averages 50 imo. other than hoping he plays more mins is there any real indication that he will? nothign wrong with picking him because he's unlikely to fall heavily.

toohey mentioned barnett would play some middle mins when fitzgibbon comes back into the side (i think he is gonna miss rnd 1?)

all indications point to an 80 min hooker and they're aiming for watson to play 80 ish.. frizzel will play 80 too... seems to me like they'd rotate the bigger middles

but sometimes you just have to gamble on a guy like that.

Will Penisini upgraded to top 30 contract. after the preseason hype up from Gutho Opacic has some pressure on that's assuming he even has the spot

Who is the one player you're considering but either just can't fit him in, or just not 100% sure you want to pull the trigger. I'll go first,

    Luke Brooks.

Who is one player that you really want to put in your team but don't have the balls??

For me it is probably Jake Turpin...

Priced at 40 and averaged 59.67 in 80 minute games at hooker and that only drops to 53.5 in games over 60 minutes at hooker.

He averaged 53.67 in games over 60 minutes since the rule changes scoring a 62 in 80 minutes, 52 in 60 and 47 in 65, so he is looking at worst 10 points underpriced and at best probably 13+ points underdone... My only issue is that last year there was concern he was less effective playing big minutes so Seibs brought in Bull and Paix at times to spell Turpin.

With a new coach looking for quality over quantity with his forwards and Broncos surely only room to improve, can Turpin play 80 minutes and find himself around 50-55 and a lot of points underpriced and cash to make.

Even with a 50 average he has just under 170K to make and plays the first bye round.

If I am getting Brimson it is because I think he will maintain a 50 average... I can't really see him improving on that. He had a mad run of scores to round out the year but also a lot of tries.

Paulo, but if he is outperforming my other Super-cow MIDs he is an easy swap in.

The thought originally was that a better team (more opportunities) + origin + developing youngster = take it up a just a notch pushing into keeper, but then I'm fairly sure that's just because I like playing him and he'll score at what he's priced at and I'm better off spending the money elsewhere. Its a head vs heart thing.
