Yeah, I have Fifi and Riki starting and an empty spot for a cheapie as cover on the bench somewhere. It looks lightChewie wrote:Edge is a tricky position this season, especially with CHN, Gilbert, and possibly Ford unavailable.
That leaves Riki, BMM, Waddell, and Gosie as value options. hmmm

Has made me second guess Isaako and Brooks in my team.
I know draws shouldn't come into it but given there is so many options and combinations for your round 1 team surely if you are looking for value should the first 6-7 weeks come into it if you are trying to treat your non-guns as value/cash cow players?
Broncos have Eels, Titans, Bulldogs, Storm, Rabbitohs, Panthers, Eels to start. All teams that are expected to be top 8 except the Bulldogs. Doesn't really affect forwards but can affect backs if they never see the ball.
Tigers have Raiders, Roosters, Knights, Eels, Cowboys, Rabbitohs so not quite as bad so shouldn't really affect a half.
It is a bit concerning for sure re Isaako hhhmmmm...
Maybe I’ll go Teddy at WFB with 2 cheapies in Hoy and Laurie....

Risky-ish play, but given the shape of Edge players atm, I might go for Capewell.
If he gets the 80min gig, in an attacking team like the Panthers, I think he can easily push 55-60 weekly. Not exactly enough to be a stepping stone, but decent scoring for a decent price in a tricky position.

Yeah I've convinced myself Isaako ain't an option so have Teddy, RTS and Hoy with Laurie. Allows me to play Hoy first week vs Bulldogs without risking Laurie vs the Raiders.
Reassess after that.

Think Curran will surprise a few. Apparently won the spot on merit in pre-season so hopefully kicks on. He has stiff competition from BMM.
Katoa is on the left so will displace Murchie if fit by the looks of it. Sironen will always be the bench utility when Egan is back.

Maybe Hetherington?
Did you read the nrl.com article as well
I am slightly concerned that he is using Dylan Napa as a role model for keeping his discipline in check

Looks like Jock Madden might have to wait for his NRL debut. Moses Mbye tipped to wear @WestsTigers No. 6 on Sundee ...
That's the most annoying thing for Laurie's security.
You can make assumptions, but no guarantees that Mbye won't go back to 1 when Doueihi is back

.
In 2018 Tigers beat Roosters, Storm, Parra and Storm in the opening 5 rounds.
They are generally pretty good starters

LOL. Yeah, I did. I was also concerned about Napa as the role model. I don't reckon Hetherington will kick on. All that I know about the guy is from people's opinions on here and he hasn't been spoken about highly.

Do you reckon you'll pick Laurie anyway, knowing he could be dropped round 2?

Thats pretty much what ive settled on too. Happy to have Laurie in my emg but not relying on him as my 3rd wfb until we know what his js is like

Probably will pick Laurie if named fullback.
Depends on what other cheap options are available and how I feel about them.

I am curious why everyone has jumped off McCullogh. Underpriced tackle bot keeper playing 80 at HOK. Is there something I am missing?

So what’s everyone’s sort of plan? What’s the ratio of guns to cows? Do people have a certain amount of cows they like or gun heavy?

He's a chance of gaining some consistent minutes at prop this season, rather than being a mister fixit, but it's hard to get a read on whether he is any value at FF or what the Dogs are going to do with their middle rotation.
He could actually just turn out to be Napa 2 which would mean he's highly visible in games, lots of impact (both good and bad) but not that fantasy relevant although if he ends up around the same $ as Napa he has the best part of $200k to make
Seems like an unnecessary risk but pickings this arvo could be slim
