Sam Walker was named to start in NSW Cup. Which doesn't normally happen if they know he'll be playing first grade

Not to say they won't change their mind

Just thinking he is the kind of guy that can spark them from the bench, more than Lussick would offer. Gives him an opportunity to show what he can do in first grade, and potentially land the starting 6 / 7 role in time.

I agree about Sam walker but i dont think he'll be starting for a while. They'll give Lam the opportunity and if theyre winning i cant see Lam being dropped.

Am I crazy to want to get Mitchell in? I had him and traded him out just before Rd1 kickoff. The only player I can trade him out for is NAS, the player I last minute traded him for in the first place. Leniu is the only other FRF I’m interested in. Is Mead a must buy this week or can he wait until next week?

Would starting hooker for 3 weeks then bench be enough to make Lussick worthwhile as well as freeing up cash?

I am looking at Too instead. Tackle busting beast, in a top team. Without Mansour there this season, lots of running meters available. If he scores a lot of tries as well, will kick ass.

I see he got a couple of TOs in round 1 as well. Will rewatch the game, but will be interested to see if putting your opposing winger over the sideline is deemed a turnover, as it should be. Could see wingers get quite a few of them in games if it is.

Better to trade out Croker or Gosi this round?

I'm struggling to decide which one is shitter than the other.

Agreed @Welshy; as an old dog (pushing 50 this year) - I've seen way too many young players blooded at NRL level before they are physically or emotionally ready for the pressure of full-time professional sport.
It's not just being physically big enough, they struggle with the $, the glare of public scrutiny and weight of expectation.
I actually think the NRL should expand the U20s comp; give the kids a chance to train in the system without being in the first grade squad until they are 20+.
Look at the positive effect of Luai waiting (learning from) Maloney at the Panthers. He could have been a regular 1st grader at a different club, but is a better player for his time developing.
    Just my 2 cents worth.

    Sounds pretty sensible.

Got him in my draft team, would love to have him join my classic team but don’t think it will happen somehow

Early Mail: Roosters rookie Sam Walker is in line to make his debut despite being named in the reserves. “Sam Walker is right in the frame to make his NRL debut this weekend,” The Daily Telegraph’s Dave Riccio said on NRL Tonight. “There could be a change to the spine that may see Lachlan Lam move from five-eighth into dummyhalf to give Freddy Lussick a breather, which would then allow Sam Walker to come into the game off the bench.”

Spose that's terrible for Lam?? His points didn't seem to move once he switched to dummy half.

He can probably wait about 25 weeks by my calculations.

I liked him as a Nofo-esque pick for Round 1 (at $580k was about $100k cheaper).

He is likely a real 2nd tier WFB, unlikely to make enough money from here to be a great cash generator, and best case is probably a season average around 50, so not ideal there either.

TLDR: I think that boat has already sailed

I've brought him in for BSmith. Last year was a big adjustment as his 1st year at FB, he looks a lot fitter and hungrier this season. I also think Benji will provide more opportunity for Latrell to be in the right fantasy scoring positions. In saying that, he was already on 30+ points before scoring a try.
If I don't pick him this week, I won't be able to afford him for a while. It gives me a backline of Teddy, Latrell, and Laurie (moving Hoy to the EMG).
My expectations of BSmith were a but optimistic, he'll score ok, but I see more upside to Latrell atm.

Lane gets a another chance. Going without Fifita.. Will probably regret it. Going for Cash cows instead this week with hopefully not having to trade next week

I would dump Lane for Fifita without even thinking.

This may be a big waste of two trades, so please grill me if it's idiotic:

    BSmith & Munster -> Alvaro/Davey & Cleary

I'm terrified of falling behind not having Cleary (playing H2H). Alvaro/Davey don't have to be in my 17 but one of them/Leniu will be.

Not ideal if he defends on the edge again. He gets one more week for me. Another 30 and he's out.
