Brailey or Fifita the logical back up captain, but can't decide who, hmmmm scratch

Riki will 100% play, its no concern. His wrist has been strapped in rnds 1 and 2

His talent is undeniable, and he may cement a spot because of that, still it's hard to see in the Medium term where he fits.

At present, he's a half filling in on the edge and seems unlikely to keep the spot over an actual edge who has trained as an edge.

Turbo sounds likely to be back next week or Round 5.
When Turbo is back, he's Fullback, Walker -> Centre, Parker possibly to edge (more experience and Des loves him).

Then Round 6 Olakau'atu returns as well.
By Round 7 Sironen potentially returns.

He almost certainly makes some coin in the short-term. It does seem like it needs quite a few things to fall his way.
Of course, often in Fantasy that happens, I'm not entirely convinced yet...

This is exactly where I got to last night when I finally got round to looking properly at trades for the week.

I got burned last year thinking 4-5 week cash cows (and even mids) are worth it

e.g. Clark/Paix when the correct answer was Fog
Also considering Young and/or Butcher as short-term stepping stones to guns, but you never end up stepping from them

Sometimes they work, but I'm going to be selective/patient in picking my spots. And this isn't one of them. Will risk looking like an idiot in the scenario where he secures an edge position and is a 550-600k player.

Agree with everything you've said tbh. We don't even know yet if he's actually going to start in the back row.

I'm still pretty tempted to grab him (if he does start), but my only real flip for him is Gosi. Despite how poor Gosi is for fantasy, it still feels pretty sideways to trade a cheap manly edge to a cheap manly edge. I know most will say its a no brainer but most run out of trades by round 10 too.

He's one of those players that everything may just keep falling into place though..

Think sometimes you just have to back the talent

SOS looks more nailed on, but also looks a worse pick, for the same reason.

I’m not buying this Parker to edge narrative one bit

Yup, why play a shit play out of position anyway. Just play the talent

If Schuster does get moved then easy enough switch to SoS

Team for this week 170k itb

    JBrailey
    Watson BSmith Taukeiaho
    Riki Tupouniua
    Cleary Milford
    Bird Roberts
    Tedesco Niu Laurie

    Egan
    Liddle
    Turpin
    Alvaro

    Ah Mau
    Papenhuyzen
    Schuster
    Averillo

Have options for Schuster should there be shenanigans before the game so not locked in there

Possible trade targets for next week

Koloamatangi = who will hopefully get DPP soon, need to check minutes and due to his BE isn't urgent can wait a week
Could be a possible downgrade of BSmith/Taukeiaho and allow me to bring in a half upgrade like bye friendly Moses
SOS A week to look at his role won't hurt, if he scores well then an easy swap out of an underperforming cow

A week is a long one in fantasy so hoping I can get through this week unscathed after getting burned on Davey (Gutted for him)
Lost 50k, a trade and about 40pts but shit happens look forward and move on

Different question really. Both hoping he drops cash, owners will be more likely to flick before he starts bleeding money and they see guys like Alvaro averaging more for less.

Easier to bring in a player with wraps who has lost a chunk of cash than holding one losing it

I didn't start him because I believed he wouldn't score as well as everyone expected, but the expectations from most preseason was that he would play 55-65 minutes with the occasional attacking stats due to the way he plays

No love for I. Papali'i from anyone, particularly now that he's got a starting gig and should continue to get some good minutes?

To me it seems he's panning out like people thought Tino would

Is Turpin to Egan sideways when I can bank 77k from the trade? It also means I can move on a stalled cow with a BE around what his average will likely be and who has potential to lose his 80min role depending what happens with Dearden. In turn I pick up a cow with a low BE, looks like he will score pretty well and looks set to have an 80min role. He may even pick up some attacking stats with CHT out

Could have really done with a Teddy shaped security blanket in my side this week

Just went through my backline only to realize Milf is both my most expensive and biggest name player from Jersey 1-7 Embarassed

    I've thought about him.

Just depends if moving from middle to edge reduces his workload by more than the increase in minutes helps his score.

He is currently priced at his 2020 2nd row average (all played under the new rules), so the only value is whatever improvement he gets from being at the Eels.

I don't think it does really.

He seems pretty matchup proof - at least once every game he's just gonna wreck someone in the other teams defence. Just a matter of whether its one of those big 4 TBs and a try runs or he gets wrapped up quickly by the cover.

Probably the biggest FOMO for me pre-R1 and its panned out to be what I feared.

Getting Jackson this week, iPap is my target for next week if he keeps playing as well on the edge with a high work rate.

I really like him but gone from middle interchange to starting edge because Matterson concussion. Should be good if goes back to middle interchange though.
I have to sell Turpin to get him and now leaning towards Lam to Egan or Kenny better trade in scheme of things

Keen but not sure will pull the trigger. Mostly keen though because I usually don’t pull the trigger in this sort of situation - ie forward I think will see more bench than starts.

Similarly though I don’t pull the trigger on Jackson types who look like 10pt improved scorers... a reality that deceives me.

Does make me wonder who the hell I do pull the trigger on as i have no issue running out of trades with 6 weeks to go every year. Oh yeah..:
