50-60 minute edge vs 70-80 minute mid, not even close. Not sure how you can act so dim witted.rhinoceroo wrote:

mattnz wrote:It took 2 injuries at Panthers for Capewell to play 80 minutes. Moving him on was the right decision after low minutes each of the last 2 weeks. Wasn't getting a locked in 80 minute role that those of us that bought him were looking for.
In games where there aren't a couple of injuries, May is in the MID rotation and Martin steals minutes from Capewell.
Don't really know your team, but I kept him purely cause I have other issues and he's gonna score around his price. He had a pretty average score until 60min, then bumped to 50, then the try. That's the luck side of Fantasy. I would still be happy if I had traded him to a longer-term option

Looks like mtb's site has the total points including the try save, but missing the individual stat.

Stoked I didn't, but I was just thinking more that I'll get reliable scores and not keen to move players like him on until there's clear upside.robelgordo wrote:I thought pretty much everyone with Capewell was looking to sell?

Thanks mate! Does this change throughout the season? Does it change year to year?

Yes that was the information coming into the season, which people make decisions based on. As soon as this wasn't the case, the reason to have Capewell in the team wasn't valid any more, so he became a trade out.
Again it comes down to making valid decisions based on the information available at the time, both to have him in the team and trading him out when he wasn't getting the role that was needed to hold his place in the team. What happens after you make a good decision, based on the information available at the time is beyond your control, such as 2 injuries at Panthers, which led to 80 minutes for Capwell and a try during the period that he has been subbed off in each of the last 2 weeks. In 50-60 minutes most weeks, Capewell likely averages 40ish. Also plays origin, which means he was a trade out ahead of round 13 anyway.
Then we have tossers like Rhinoceroo ribbing about playing Capewell in your 17 each week when scoring badly, then justifiably trading him. Time for the shit to stop, going to be calling you out when acting like an idiot.

A lot of praise is being given to Kikau and sure he was great to get his arm under but I think it was Staines who put the shot on Olam that puts him off centre and means he lands on his back. Olam should have passed to JAC as well.

Tuned back in after checking the result. Expected a few posts from Matt being all humble and shit with his Capewell pick....little did I know
Very entertaining exchanges all round chaps (Matt included).
0 from 0 for me, solid start.

I traded out BSmith after round 1... no regrets, I knew he would get over the line at some point.
I was hoping for a 50-60point score on a weekly basis from him. Happy for those who kept him

Yeah, I was fortunate that I didn't have many other pressing issues. Have been fortunate with injuries to date.
Those that were other possible trade outs to get JJ in were:
- NAS - has been getting the minutes needed, just not the scoring that he is capable of. Will be first traded next week after a 3rd poor showing
- Turpin - Still an 80 minute hooker - should come right, not an urgent trade
- Lam - In quiet games he is still scoring in the 30s, should come right soon enough
Capewell was the only one not getting the role that I was looking for when choosing him in the team, so was the first of them traded.
I also traded Simonsson to Schuster.
Getting a 70-80 minute tackle bot mid for a 50-60 minute edge should pay off over the coming weeks. All going to plan, JJ is this year's Harris or Yeo and I got him early for a guy that wasn't getting the role that was needed to retain his place in the side.
There is another guy that I will consider trading at some point, but isnt urgent, which is Tapine. Has been scoring great - average of 61 in 41 and 42 minute games. Insane and unsustainable PPM of 1.47 at the moment. Unless he gets more minutes, will eventually be a sell to a better option.
Really happy with the rest of my team though, all increasing in value and scoring decently. Even a guy like Lucy is performing as hoped, 2 scores in the 50s against top teams, with no real attacking opportunities. Should put up some big scores when he does.
