We had Smelly play in the halves for a period (mind you there is literally nothing that man can't do, what a legend), maybe just pick a guy who can defend and gives a shit if you're trying to send a message.

I could buy you 3 times over and still have change for breakfast, so just crawl back into your holes.
Plus I once won a participation in U12s so I know all there is to know about the game
Go Tigers!
Sounds like Staggs might be keen for a run at 6 when he returns.Archer wrote:

Hold on there mate, plenty of weeks leftTheWeapon wrote:In other news, made 2 great decisions last night. Changing my tip from Panthers to Storm just before kickoff, and trading out B.Smith instead of NAS.
NAS has to be my worst choice of the year, and I stubbornly hung onto him for one more week....

Archer wrote:I Genuinely think either Staggs or Riki could be fine. Fix your defence and attitude first and then worry about fixing up the attack with two genuine halves again when the ones you've got have spent a few weeks in the ressies getting some confidence/fire back.
Mind you I think you'd then find the Halves are just the easy targets and a few other blokes in that team would then be exposed (but that would be a good thing).

Fuck people that aren't broncos fans must get sick of hearing about our shit.
Being the one club in Brisbane just means everything that happens is in the media daily. If we were just another Sydney club you wouldnt have to hear this all the time.

yeah the problem is we don't really have a dominant half at the moment. we have 3 guys (milford/dearden/croft) who are all gun shy, not strong enough leaders, and go missing too easily,.
Eh, throw em in the deep end with full ownership and see who takes the opportunity and who doesn't. How often do we see players step up and shine in those scenarios (Morgan when Thurston was out, Last night, even we seemed to go better with one less dominant "play maker" out last year in Hodgo)my tv broke wrote:

I think that’s a bad idea this season. Or at least a desperate idea.
You look at how much guys like Mitchell and Ponga struggled there (although I think with patience both could do really well there). Even Lockyer took a season to really get going as a 5/8. Then you drop Staggs into the current Broncos setup... yikes.
Think it would weaken centre and probably do nothing for their halves tbh.
If he had a full off-season at 5/8 then maybe

Broncos are so much like the Dallas Cowboys. Competitions richest club, glory days in the 90's, their search for success dominated headlines. Broncos has had a little bit success since the 90's than the Cowboys but the similarities are numerous.
Its not going to weaken the ctr's any more than you are currently though and if you're still considering it by the time he's back its fair to say the results don't really matter much at that point. I agree the biggest challenge would be keeping the patience with someone, given the media scrutiny they'd be under. Ricky was determined to give Jack an opportunity and even he folded the first time around with far less pressure. Mind you I wasn't actually suggesting the replacement had to be a long term solution, just a workaround. Just the act of dropping players COULD be good (i don't mean every other week changing the team) if managed right (Sticky dropped Papa however many years back, Flanno being dropped last year etc)robelgordo wrote:
