As I suggested earlier, we need to have certainty of whether a player is available or not each week. The easiest way to manage this is using footystatistics ownership and subtracting change in ownership for the week. Doesn't matter when you select them during that week then.wolfking wrote:
Might have to ask Welshy. I mean, someone like Verills is 1.3% now but you'd think if named to start, come the next day he's well over 5%. How do we work that I wonder. Anyone could wait til an hour before to confirm the trade and say they did it as soon as team lists were announced.

Re: NRLFF 5% Pod League
I'm pretty sure that's not the easiest way.
How about someone just scrapes a list of eligible players at the end of the round (Sunday night or Monday morning).
Prior to lockout opening.
That way it's pretty clear, black and white, and requires no mathematics to back calculate - and is an easy reference for everyone

Will have the same outcome. Nice of you to volunteer to do it, thanks!

What is wrong with just using the ownership % as displayed in the fantasy game itself.
I am not planning on spending more than about 5-10 minutes on this team each week. I don't want to have to spend time cross-checking ownership with some external source when I log on to make a trade.

Because it will vary, depending on when you look at it. Why we need certainty of who is available / unavailable each week.

Agreed
I will not trade in anyone over 5% (or whatever the % rule is for that week) at the time I'm making a trade. Anyone who does is a cheating cunt

I get that the timing of your trade people can move from below to above the POD threshold but it’s not going to happen that often and its not exactly the most serious team/comp.

As long as you trade early you should be OK
If a player starts the week at 4% and goes up to 8% during the week, its OK to bring them in if you do it whilst they have POD status, right?
I guess there is a bit of an honour system going around when people time their trades, but the value gets taken when you make the trade, not what they end up at.
If that was the case we could've all brought in Simpkin. I think say Wed would be ok for "locking out" that way we don't punish people who are a bit late but we also can't grab must have's early because you're the first person on.

The most popular trade in most weeks will go from below to above the threshold.robelgordo wrote:I get that the timing of your trade people can move from below to above the POD threshold but it’s not going to happen that often and its not exactly the most serious team/comp.

In which case someone will get him early and everyone else will be allowed to because there’s no way of detecting it? I just don’t get why it needs policing. It’ll pretty much self police and anyone who blatantly cheats is going to be mocked for the whole season

It's not draft. One person having a player doesn't stop anyone else having them. Those that have less time to commit to this shouldn't be penalised due to checking trade in options later than othersrobelgordo wrote:

Re: NRLFF 5% Pod League
I'm happy to have a crack at putting something up each week.
If a player is under the threshold when you make your trade then they're under the threshold (you'll see this in the Fantasy system) - there's no dramas and it's nice and easy honesty system.
If they are over the threshold and you suspect they would've been viable earlier that week, but want to do the right thing and check - then it gives a clear-cut reference you can cross-check.
Should be a pretty simple way.

Never checked Haas's ownership assuming he will be over 5%. Not sure why I thought so. Maybe coz I made the team with 15 minutes remaining on the clock.
I will be rage quitting in few weeks.

I’m happy to go with whatever is in the system when you trade them in. It’s not exactly a serious comp, is meant to be fun.

Guys this was made as a bit of fun to involve a few different players from the usual format
As stated from the start, it’s a bit of an honesty system with pretty much the only rule being not trading in or starting with a player over the % threshold
It’s nothing serious and shouldn’t be treated as such

I think with players that are pretty much garunteed to rise over 5% after team lists, we just make a call, we all trade them in or no one trades at all perhaps.
