I think it also depends on how long they have hope to make the 8. While they do, Rog should absolutely stay at 1.

Gives me 17 this week and enough bank to get Cleary and Verrills next week with Liddle and Niu.

All I was saying (and MS before me   ) is you're not going to catch up by bringing him in now but you're just hoping not to fall further behind. The fact that 999 out of the current top 1,000 have him makes perfect sense given he has been on an all time tear.  By not bringing him in, you'd be hoping the $1.1m you spend on Cleary could be spent elsewhere on better value guys who can deliver more points collectively.  And if Cleary does cool down, you get to catch up some of that lost ground.

ps I lost a H2H on the weekend with Cleary captain, to a team without him . Probably says more about the rest of my team than anything else...

Yeah mate, I think the boldness is where it is for me. It's just about not falling even further behind (don't so much care about Overall as I do my cash H2H comp). I just don't have the testicular fortitude to potentially see another 248 point captain score without being involved.

I did actually look long and hard and what I could do this week if I didn't bring Cleary in, but no scenario came close to what I would get from trading in and being able to captain Cleary. Saying all this is - of course - me assuming he keeps scoring like he does, which he obviously won't now that I own him. But yeah, the big if is if he does cool down, and it's just not looking like it at the moment (enter tonight to shatter this thought process).

Anyway, guess we'll see how it plays out. All just a guess but I can't see prolonged success for a team without Cleary in it at the moment.

My first year of Fantasy is never far from my mind, though, where I sideways traded to bring in RTS after he belted out the first three rounds of the comp. I then owned him for a 14, 24, 35 and 19 before he scored 50 again.

Obviously Cleary is in a different class this year (as well as arguably being blessed with phantom points) but if anyone's going to break him, I'm going to say I'm a pretty good bet to do it.

I’m starting to consider running 16 this week because I don’t like any options at the lower end of the WFB market. Especially when it’s possible they will go straight into EMG next week.

Keeping Niu, will use him to loop between Laurie/Trbo at WFB and Bird/Roberts at CTR.
Probably more useful for dirty pool hooping than the odd 100k would have brought to my team anyway

Which brings us back to getting a WFB/CTR so you can push Jimmy the Jet back into emergencies next week and be very happy (until he busts out a 70 then reverts back to this seasons type when you put him back in etc etc)

Oh yes I forgot about future proofing of the team. So back to Hampton/Crichton then. Surely RD13 plays a major part in choosing

I swore I'd never quote from this podcast again as it's always dud info, and won't even mention it's name this time, but anyone else hear that Hampton was in very minor doubt due to a rib issue? When I heard it I immediately pictured the moment it happened last week, where I remember feeling great concern.

To be clear, the rumour was not that he will miss the game, but if he plays he'll be playing nursing a rib concern. Just a little FYI.

For those looking at Tom Trbojevic as a SC buy, highest risk of hamstring injury recurrence is in a players first 2 weeks back (drops considerably after that). In 2019 Turbo missed 4 weeks with a hamstring strain, came back and scored 152. 2nd week back: reinjury & 9 weeks out

I heard from a colleague that Fifita looked like he had a stiff leg at the end of the game and could be in doubt for the rest of the season.
