Ref blew the whistle, so play stops. It's the refs mistake, but Souths defenders technically denied a chance to make a tackle because of it

Ref blew the whistle before he went over the try line. Ideally the ref would leave it for another few seconds and then make his call there

I guess the point is the ref blows the whistle so Rabbitoes players could "Switch off" and not defend the play? (obviously not the reason JBrom scored but my interpretation of the hard and fast rule).
