It's really not that hard - the Titans are through whatever happens. The Raiders have to beat the Titans' points difference and, if they do, the Titans will finish above the Sharks.

He is fantastic to watch. If anything too good for fantasy - missing out on tackle busts because defenders don't even touch him. Seems over his injury though...

no but it has given me stuff to think about. Barba in particular has looked good and if he gets the starting FB gig he will be hard to pass up for some.

IF Barba gets the FB gig how long would it take until either Holmes or even Bird gets a shot?

Dunno. But you can't deny at his price he would be someone you might consider in order to save some cash

All I've taken from it is that SJ, Hurrell and Mansour are fit. It is great to watch thoughBren wrote:So as expected the 9's hasnt really changed my opinion on any potential Fantasy players.

$178k or so. Only selectable at half at the moment.
Do you think they try and fit Bird, Holmes and Barba all into the run on team?

Is there a particular reason why everyone thinks Bird will play fullback? He's a monster and far better utilised up in the line - either at centre or even lock. Valentine Holmes has it sewn up for mine.

Im not sure about everyone else but I would also prefer Holmes at FB. But there has been constant chatter in the off season of Bird potentially being switched to FB (maybe it is just wishful thinking). I think they will play him at CTR, unless Gallen switches to prop and they play him at lock like you suggest.

Agreed. Holmes is just too big a talent to waste on the wing - case in point RTS.

A few articles like this in the off-season about Bird playing fullback.
http://www.foxsports.com.au/nrl/nrl-premiership/teams/sharks/exclusive-cronulla-star-jack-bird-extends-contract-will-play-fullback-next-season/news-story/241af062a4d055a4a9b5b932f38396df
I agree that its a bit of a waste , and that Holmes and Barba are both better choices

Re: 2016 NRL.com Fantasy Thread Part 5
noticed a write-up on nrl.com from the Dragons trial match that should interest a few:

http://www.nrl.com/packer-impresses-in-dragons-trial-win/tabid/10874/newsid/92680/default.aspx
Former Kiwi Test prop Russell Packer has made a successful debut for St George Illawarra as the Dragons easily accounted for Wynnum Manly 50-6 in a trial game at Redlands Junior Rugby League on Saturday night.
Looking to push his way into the Dragons' 17 for Round 1 and play his first NRL game since June 18, 2013, Packer took the very first hit-up of the night and came up with a number of further powerful charges in his opening 24-minute stint on the field.
He returned to start the second half, working hard defensively as well as attracting four Wynnum defenders who held him up under the posts early in the second half and said he was pleased that he and the rest of the team got through unscathed.
"The game served its purpose. Everyone got the minutes that the coach wanted and I thought we did pretty well against a Queensland Cup team," Packer told NRL.com after the game.
"It will be good to build on that for the next game against Souths in the Charity Shield.
"I felt pretty gassed in the first stint but the first trial game always serves its purpose of blowing the cobwebs out.
"It's been a hard four-and-a-half months and it's good to be in the Red V, to be in a Dragons jersey and playing with the boys."
Reigning Dragons player of the year Leeson Ah Mau was the most damaging forward on the field as the Wynnum defence struggled to quell his momentum while former Storm player Shaun Nona was a surprise starter at halfback.

Re: 2016 NRL.com Fantasy Thread Part 5
If Barba is named at fullback on the first TLT will he gain DPP status before lock out? Otherwise if he is only selectable in the halves he would have to take a place of either Hastings, or Taylor (assuming you're running Gun, Mid, Cow, Cow). And I don't think i'd take him over them as far as a money maker given his job security even if selected at FB.
