It's pretty easy for me to say he's making mistakes, while sitting all the way back outside the 4k mark.

I wonder how much calm and consideration I would have if I was stricken with the curse of being first.
Luckily I'll probably never find out.

    Play on...

I used to work with a bloke who was running first for about 8 weeks a few years ago, his stress was intense. He’d banked a few trades and had a good lead but over analyzed it and took too much advice from the renegades and he bombed pretty hard. Was pretty funny at the time but not sure I’d handle it any better.

Was also interesting reading all the thoughts in here (may have been sportal actually) about his tactics / trades. Ol’ Rabs was bagging him pretty hard, surprising I know. I did start to reply a few times but Rabs was off his meds and I didn’t want to fall foul of his families boxing prowess. And my pool was only a 7 x 4. You gotta know when to hold em.

But last year really was the worst in history and winning the series doesn’t actually make it any less abysmal, but maybe it does make the victory sweeter.

Can confirm it was the greatest live sporting event I’ve attended. Probably shouldn’t have told my wife it was the ‘best night of my life’ when I got home though.

For the record 1995 was the worst Queensland Origin team ever.
Naturally they went on and won the series 3-0 (under coach Fatty Vautin)

Egan now very much a sell by the looks. Assume Walsh takes his minutes again.

All these trade ins that get dropped/lose minutes are making things really hard.

Just read the match report on the Roosters game. Trent R0obinson is such a decent fella. He thinks about what he says and is articulate. I'm going as far as to say, best coach I've ever seen.

Matterson is still the marquee edge for mine.

Interest to see how things shake out but I'd guess Matterson has the big minute role

    What are his origin chances?
He must be close to the squad even if he doesn’t run on.
    Remembering they need 18 now.

I think he will be around 20th man if squad was named today. Injury to Crichton or Frizell could see him in the team

I’m pretty confident Matterson won’t be selected

Crichton, Frizell and Murray ahead of him and only needs to miss the first Origin to get the extra game

18th man would probably be Wighton if he didn’t get picked at CTR, can play basically whole backline bar wing and probably big enough for lock and edge

In 2016 the Roosters were ravaged by injury and finished the season in fifteenth (ahead of the Knights who had won just a single game).
At the time it was lightly rumoured that his job wasn't safe - which seemed crazy at the time.

It's interesting to see how much he has learned and adapted since then, as I'd say this year seems comparable with the injury toll.

For mine he's the most articulate, intelligent and considered coach I've ever seen. Hard to say if he's the best though given the dynasty that Bellamy has created at the Storm. Certainly the top two I've seen in League

iPap typically playing in the middle most of the game, so plays less minutes.

It seemingly hasn't been determined yet, but I suspect that the 18th man will continue to be available for club footy.
Given the unlikely event of 3 HIAs, and the even greater unlikeliness of them needing to play big minutes.
