Has their been a definitive timeline on Dufty? I will probably bring in whoever gets the FB spot which I’m guessing Ramsey is next cab of the rank?Chewie wrote:

I think Hynes will be there. He's admitted manager is talking to the Broncos at the moment. I'd say manager is playign it smart because every game Hynes gets with Papy/Munster out is giving him contract leverage.
Will be a great signing. If he signs what’s your ideal back line ?

Love to see this:
1 Hynes
2 Oates
3 Farnworth
4 Staggs
5 Isaako
6 Milford
7 Reynolds
People will disagree with the 6, and I think its probably unlikely, but I'd like to see how that goes.

With Peachey gone for two weeks and Momirovski unlikely back in again it would appear I’m playing 16 this week. I refuse to waste another trade on centres!

St George Illawarra have asked the Wests Tigers to release Moses Mbye from his contract immediately to link with the Dragons as part of a mid-season switch.
Mbye recently met with the Dragons to discuss the potential of linking with the club next year. Sources with knowledge of negotiations told the Herald the Dragons want Mbye sooner than that, and any deal would hinge on the Queenslander being able to join the club in the coming weeks. The deal is likely to be off the table if Mbye can’t come now.

I don't think croft was that highly rated when at the storm, especially amongst his teammates. Remember Smith giving him a hard time during games. The storm system was just better at hiding his poor decision making.

I’m bringing Teddy back (unless Walh named to start) and captaining him -it’s hail mary time! Surely Panthers can’t put a cricket score on Souths this week!toast wrote:Want to do RTS to Teddy but he's a green dot when i've got too many red dots. Maybe i'm being reactionary

Dufty's injury might've panicked them..

If testing the 6 in this structure didn't mean another wasted season, I'm all for it. Though I'm not seeing any effort from Milford that he wants it.
His effort at Souths was poor, his stats since returning have gone backwards and he still doesn't look fit.

I thought he was pretty good against the Titans, probably should have been better in the latter stages against the Cows (and really that is a big mark against him, he should step up in those moments). Last week terrible like the lot of them.
He isn't getting another contract on recent form.

Doesn’t seem legit - Griffin only appears to sign people he’s previously coached at the Broncos and Panthers so far.
More seriously, I think Mbye is not nearly as bad as people think and a team last rolling Fui/Burns at CTR and with no recognised FB for 6 weeks could use him. But we had a better version of Mbye already. His name was Kurt Mann and instead of harnessing his talents he mainly played wing or 10 minute bench cameos at hooker

I doubt there's any problem releasing him immediately, it's probably more the immediacy gives the Tigers some small leverage in terms of their contributions to seeing his contract out.
Billy Walters must be pretty much good to go by now too?

FWIW I thought Mbye probably had his best game for the Tigers last week - maybe just needed his first 50 games with the Tigers to get going (which isn't that bad... Brooks...)

I'm doing a bit more bye planning, and I'm looking at Lucy or Matto as my trade this week. Both roughly the same price, but Matto a 63.7 avg in 80 minute games, Lucy had a 53 avg same parameters. It's nearly an 11 point upgrade which over the course of 12 rounds should bank around 117 points if I go Matto.
Of course, there's Matto's injury history. This isn't to say that Lucy won't get injured (or suspended) who knows what'll happen, however it's much riskier picking up Matto as a head knock could put him out for another 4 weeks, defeating the purpose of picking him up.
I think at this stage I'm leaning towards picking up Matto but with the intention of trading him out should he get injured again, and not waiting for his return as we know it can be quite a wait.
Do you guys go Matto, or do you go the "safety" in Lucy?
*Based on 2020*
Quite an interesting comparison. Last season Matterson started the year putting out scores in the 50s however once he started getting some tries, bulk tbs + offloads or monster tackle counts he boosted to being a 60+ guy
Lucy this year started similar with a chunk of scores in the 50s without any big attacking stats. His tries have both come from falling onto a kick in goals, but he has been inches away from going over with a few hanging off a couple of times. I think it's only a matter of time before he crashes over for an 80 point performance and those averages look pretty similar in the short term. I do think Matterson is more likely to have bulk attacking stats than Lucy in the longer term so I think I prefer him as a player, but over a 6 week period Lucy can easily match or better him
If you are going both before 13 follow the break evens and grab Matterson this week. If you can only have 1 I think it's Matterson outright

Like Ash Taylor, Brooks, Milford etc he is a genuine first grader that gets paid way too much money. If he was on 300k noone would bat an eye that he is selected every week.
I'd take any of them at the Roosters for the right price

Last year Bullemor had to fill in at second row against the Roosters and we lost 59 nil.
This week, with Glenn and Riki out, it is probably Bullemor filling in there again.
Poor bloke just can't catch a break when he gets a starting opportunity.
