Look at how the current top 5 uses their bench. No surprise the top of the ladder uses their bench to improve the side while those at the bottom use it as an after thought

I mean, the teams at the bottom would probably have stronger benches if they had better players to choose from..

I think it's gotta be option 1 or option 3
Yeah grabbing a keeper seems the play.  Not sure if I would trade Bird or Peachey, that's a decision for future Mulvy, but certainly leaves the options open.

Is it an Auto 2 week suspension for a crusher tackle?

Peach's Grade 1 has a base of 200 points, so appears to be a 2 week minimum if found guilty.

I like the use of the letter 't' but fear it may be closer to go with "ten try teddy"....

That'll only happen if he starts pushing Walker, Crichton, Tups etc out of the way for the ball.

Innocent plea will usually knock off 25% and take the 200 base down to 150 but Peachey (like nearly every other player in the comp) has two (non-similar) prior incidents, which both add 40 points to his total prior to taking off the 25%.

Sometime last season (or maybe the season before) they doubled the points for crusher tackles.

So a grade 1 is 200pts for a crusher whereas it is 100pts for any other illegal tackle.

Was another crackdown without a lot of thought going into the reactionary decision. Some crushers are very marginal, almost unavoidable, and a bloke will get 2 weeks. Meanwhile if he’d smacked him with a swinging arm might only cop a 1650$ fine

I think Critta would meet option 2 but also score as well as Peachey and Bird long term and not require a trade out. So 1 trade, and those extra R13 points

Imo the choice is between Critta (r13) or Manu (r17)

Ah right, I was just trying to figure out when they apply the prior incidents. I was thinking 200 base + 80 for priors, but taking the early plea reduced it to 210 or something.

I’m tempted to do Hampton and Roberts to Bird and Manu this week.

Yeah I just noticed Leota only got a fine for his shot and seems worse than some of the crushers that have put guys out a couple of weeks.

Solid mate, two red dots to two CTR keepers if fit

I’m looking at Papi to Moses as one trade.

Second trade will be another CTR Sad if Momo isn’t named. I like Critta or Manu atm

Sorry yeah early plea, not innocent plea (Freudian slip....).

Yeah so prior similar incident gets a 50% loading and a prior non-similar gets a 20% loading, then 25% off for early plea.

    So for Peach:

    200 base + (40 x 2) for the priors = 280 x 0.75 for the early plea = 210

Already a Grade 1, so no point challenging from that angle - I would personally do it though out of principle and just to be a pain in the arse.

Haha all good. I read it back and realised my confusion came from the innocent plea wording, but realised you meant early guilty plea.

Someone with a clean record would get the base 200 charge, but early guilty plea would reduce it to 150 and only be 1 week.

Mulvy wrote:Anyone want to check my logic here? If you're bored of centre talk, scroll past now. For those with the same problem, could be helpful.

Centres are Bird, Peachey and Roberts. The way I see it, there are three options, all viewed through the lens of how many points scored over the next three weeks and how many trades used.

    1. No trade. Roberts potentially could be back next week according to casualty ward, or not at all. If I hold Roberts, He potentially gives me zero points in the next three weeks, or potentially 15 points in rd 12 and 13.

So option 1. 0-30 points. Zero trades.

    2. Trade Roberts to a rd13 centre. If I did this, I suspect said player won't score as well as Peachey and Bird long term, so they would be first to go for a rd17 player when bye trading. But it would give me 25-35 points for the three weeks (Peachey is only out the next two weeks but I would play all three of them in rd13 of course).

So option 2. 75-105 points. Two trades.

    3. Trade Roberts to a rd17 centre. I would try and make it a keeper (ie good JS) like Manu for example. Would get two scores of 30-40 points. If indeed I went Manu, has the advantage of Manu potentially into FB if Teddy is rested for any matches over Origin or the rest of the year (Robbo doesn't mind a rd25 Teddy resting).

So option 3. 60-80 points. One trade.

(There is a fourth option of trade Peachey to another centre, but it doesn't net me any more points than options 2 or 3 and I'm still left with Roberts in my team. Selling Peachey frees up cash, but I don't need it for my planned trades).

Looking at that, option 2 looks like the poorest. Potentially only 45 more points than option 1 for two trades. Potentially gives up to 105 more points, but I reckon I could get more points using those two trades to sideways trade guns in the bye rounds or keeping for carnage in the run home.

With option 3, I've only looked at scores over the next three weeks, you probably can't discount their rd17 score. Also option 1 means I still have James Roberts. Hmmm. I guess you can't even call option 1 zero trades because ultimately I'll be trading him, probably to a rd 17 player. This appears to make option 3 stand out. The big risk being rd17 is over seven weeks away and more chances for an injury or suspension.

I think based on that I'm leaning toward option 3, although I'm almost certain some of my arguments are probably flawed to some extent. Thoughts greatly appreciated.
Similar position here with Peachey, Bird and Cini (traded Momirovski to Peachey last week).
I’m looking at Cini to May.
May is always in the 17 and will score 20-40 consistently.
His upside is the origin period where I expect he will elevate his scoring and be a very handy Origin fill in wherever Cleary puts him.
This is all dependant on TLT of course.
