    I give up (Again)..

This used to be fun but its just too imbalanced now because of one player. I will try supercoach for one year at least they allow bigger squads and more trades if the NRL are going to stick to these rules

Is it really so terrible that the best player in the game who is dominating every stat this year, is also dominating in fantasy which is based on the aforementioned performance?

I've genuinely not heard a single complaint from someone who has Cleary as captain, because there are many different strategies within this game that one of them becoming redundant doesn't make the game broken.

Everyone started from the same point too. Same cap, same blank team. All signs pointed to Cleary being far and away the best captain choice, if you were willing to pay for it. Sure, we couldn't have seen such dominance coming from a pre-season perspective. But it's not like we're hitting jump+kick in the corner, everyone had the same opportunity

The NRL needs to change next year. The Panthers strategy is the only way to win, if this was a video game the developer would have patched them quick smart. Nerf Penrith.

Even a player like me who missed him at the start got him in by round 6 and I've gained 12k ranks since. It's a decision not to get him, and if that decision is making you rethink playing the game, maybe instead rethink the decision?

I actually didn't see what he did so can't gauge how bad or how long he may be out.

They can do what they did last season, by adding extra cost onto the gun players, was typically 3-4 points for the top tier players last season. Nerfing Cleary just means making him $1.3M+ next season.

Regulator wrote:The way this analogy is kind of relevant is, surprise, sports games. And what player have people abused on FIFA for a decade? Ronaldo. What players have people abused on 2k?LeBron and Curry. And nothing is done to "nerf" this, because they can't just lower the stats of those specific players because their stats are a reflection of their real world dominance.

except in order to reap the benefits, you still have to make things happen yourself, having Cleary with the captaincy rule is like if you got the ball to Ronaldo or Lebron or Curry, you could just press the shoot button from anywhere on the field/court with them and it's an auto-goal.

Regulator wrote:Also, it's not like there was historically all this great strategy to captain choices. For years and years and years Smith was the default captain for the majority of serious players. The new Smith is just even more dominant.

not really, there has always been heavy discussion around captaincy, Smith was a constant option but only because he was consistent, he was still perfectly capable of having a down week comparable with everyone else and he was never in the realm of 'if you aren't captaining him each and every week, you auto-lose', in the past you had guys like Parker, Gallen, Hindmarsh, Farah, Burgess, Cook, Haas, and a ton that don't immediately spring to mind, a lot of different options and over who was the right option on any given week, captaincy was by far the biggest discussion point on these forums before this year.

If he keeps up this average he’ll probably be priced at that without interference

Once McInnes and Haas were out of the running, he became an even more obvious (c) choice. No one expected this but leaving him out was a calculated risk. Any change to the rules has an impact across the board which could result in unintended (and negative) consequences. Cleary has just been too good.

The rule changes have had more of an impact with and should cause some reflection on squad sizes and how limited trades are being used. It’s no fun using all your our trades to cover injuries/suspensions but then again maybe NRLF players just have to adapt...

Just need to make it so there is actually a decision to be made. Price him at 10 points more than his average this season. Then if he scores the same next season and you select him, at least you are losing cash to get the extra captaincy points. Not selecting him will then also be a valid option, especially if he gets injured early in a game and quickly drops $200k+

What are people's thoughts on the moment silence? I think that should only be for sudden death, for guys like Bob Fulton it should be a moment of applause, celebrate the life

Those scores could flip next week or over the next couple, just how it is mate. Fkn sucks to cop a 2 though.
