Its only non origin players that get the benefit of a bye round. Any origin players that play all 3 games could effectively have 25 straight weeks of football if they don't get rested.

Are there internation games on the same weekend as origin 2 ?

There were a couple of matches scheduled to be played in England but at the moment they are TBC so not sure what is going on there

I guess I need to relent on my Isaako hype, but fuck me can the Broncos just have a set team. 6 changes in the last 9 weeks in the halves., (granted Gamble had a 1 week suspension) that clearly isnt enough time to build any sort of fuctioning and fluid team. Especially when the rest of our team has been average at best. I get it is easy to push blame onto guys who are meant to be leading the team around. But fuck me, just let them settle in. It is already a shit fucking year, suck it up and plan for next year. With Reynolds coming they should have a running five-eight as that is what works for him at Souths and compliments him. Is that going to be a 35 year old K. Hunt next year? Fuck no, you want to give him a victory lap in the team. Fine, do that but don't have him taking away experience from a crucial position in the field. Plug him in at CTR and maybe throw him a run at FB and treat him like Darius.

If Staggs is the guy next year, let him cut his teeth in the position when he is back. Then he either develops and gets accustom to the position well so it helps Reynolds transition as there is an established five eight. Like, are they just trying to save face so Staggs wont come into the position with a stack of losses and criticism? Because that is fucking stupid, everyone knows we are shit so it is expected to lose this year. Hell the Bulldogs are as bad as us, and Averillo has begun to shine, he was dropped/injured for a week. But a lot of people believe he is the guy beside Burton next year if they dont get Johnson or Sezer, and he is actually showing some attacking flare in a dumpster fire of a team.

Fuck I concede Isaako isnt a premier FB, and if he isnt your guy next year than try something else. But he has had shit consistency in the spine to deal with and a shit team. Id rather see us lose 6 straight with a team that will be playing next year for us and actually building some fucking experience than watch us get towelled up by 50 odd points and be like "Naa this week is different, we changed the halves again." Fuck it is a stupid fucking team.

The Vodafone Warriors have boosted their depth in middle forwards by signing Melbourne Storm front rower Aaron Pene on a two-year deal from next season.

Pene is a good young player. Another in the NAS/Tui type mould. Hope he goes well.

If you are going to go hard you need to hold a trade or two heading into the final round, particularly if you are carrying players from the top 4....players being rested in R20 definitely bit hard last year. Being able to swap Cleary out for the next best half could really help you move up or hold steady depending on the circumstances.

Edit : Panthers play earlyish in the final round this year....they rested a number of players last year both in game through reduced minutes and by leaving them out

I was set on trading Burton out in rd 17 but now thinking perhaps Bird? I like the idea of Burton as a handcuff of sorts to Cleary. Plus gives extra half cover which is good because I feel uneasy about probably only having one half on the bench. Others will have Averillo.

Apart from one game where he dropped the ball a few times, Curran has been pretty good.

Ive got Burton looked in as my backup ctr for the rest of the season. If Cleary is rested at all, Burton will come straight in as one of my ctrs.
Bird is solid though. I wouldn't be selling him. Could spend alot more time in the 2nd row

haha was just about to post this reminder:

Some coaches will name origin players to start and have them drop out late.
Other coaches will name origin players on the extended bench and add them to the 17 late.

Literally no difference. Where your player is named in the squad won't tell you anything today, only if they are definitely out.

Will be good to see players returning from injury and guys like Dearden named for Cows.

EDIT: There are actually A LOT of players expected back this week via injury or suspension
