Oh yeah understand that. Just haven’t seen his name most of the year and it took a half going down for him to be even named.

Maybe I havnt been looking for him each week

I had a bit of a look at the top teams, and it does look like par is a bit lower this round....maybe high 800s

    My thought process:

    1. No way in hell I want this deal to go through.
    2. Wait... if he's coming here for cheap to play wing, great. Could be a good bit of business
    3. How the fuck is he on $850k at the bulldogs? That is criminal
    4. We are going to pay him $450-$500k? Fuck no that's terrible. See point 1.

It may have nothing to do with the half going down but when it comes to Bronco's selection/game strategy does anything have anything to do with anything?

If it's Turpins service, then playing him for 60 and Paix for 20 has minimal impact. Just dump Turpin and give Paix a run - Broncos are what 3 and 11 - there's nothing to be gained by being conservative.
If it's improving attack from dummy half, then I'd suggest that hasn't been the biggest issue.

I'm not convinced that Turpin is a great or even good player, but the kid has some heart and offers good effort in defence - something that has been an underlying issue for the Broncs IMO.

You're probably 100% correct on what you've said.
I just don't understand the point of selections that appear to be finessing around the make-up of the 17 when the biggest issue has probably been attitude and to gradually lessening degree experience.
They need to improve effort and intensity and manage their rotations so that there's a bit more quality consistency with the 17 on the field.

Watching Turpin play he has some flashes that remind me of a young Jake Friend. Always seems to be in the right spot defensively but sometimes a step slow. He also looks super small trying to lead the defense against some big middles so it's hard for him to dominate a ruck. Plenty of heart trying to stop players he has no right to. The way he occasionally shapes to pass down a blind side shows promise as well. There is definitely SOMETHING there that might end up as a good first grader. Probably needs to go hard in the gym for a couple of seasons to try and get another 5-8kgs on him. Adding a kicking game he can use once or twice a game wouldn't hurt either

In the mean time he probably would benefit from a 30 minute spell every week(don't play him 50 straight then bring him off for the game Kevvie) so that he has a chance to show case some of his skills in the back end.

Yeah i agree re consistency. The team is changing every week. There is little to no chance of building anything in terms of trust in defensive combos/etc.

Weve had a lot of forced changes but also kevy is just changing players willy nilly. Its gotten silly now. Hunt selection is just embarrassing really

Wish I'd considered benching Watson instead of Jones.  Didn't even think about it.  Was already six tins in when the updated team list came.  I guess I probably would have played Watson anyway had I thought about it.

Big Watson fan and has done well this season but turning him into a Round 17 gun will definitely be an option next week.
