Big fan, great reshuffle and big-time strengthening for 17.

Other than the turpin trade... feel he's a wait and see.

I realised yesterday that I was still treating Avo as a centre just cos he has that position in fantasy. I WILL NO LONGER AVERT MY EYES AVO

Turpin is a tough one for me too.

Olam > Aitken is an alternative trade I’m interested in and would wait on Thompson for a week or two.

Wow well that screams Walsh will play in the halves.. no way they'd name SOS in the ressie's if he was starting.

Suddenly the RTS -> Sj is likely to become Herbie -> SJ

I also note that if Coates is out, Herbie probably shifts to the wing again...

On one hand, the Warriors did play well with SOS earlier in the season so it'd make the most sense to straight swap a half for a half to minimise disruption.

On the other, Nathan Brown is an idiot and loves playing mind games with his late mail. I could see him doing Walsh to the halves, Pompey coming from reserves onto the wing, and RTS moving to the back.

I reckon if the warriors line up with Walsh in the halves, Aitken's defensive duties will increase (previous posts from much smarter blokes have alerted me to this) and this could be a great trade.. definitely one to wait a week on though.

He was pretty rubbish as a half, he just had 1 or two lucky breaks and scored. His last tackle decision making was atrocious and that was what got him culled in the end... for Walsh who in turn came in and was absolutly electric.

I’d be happy to wait a week but I’m aiming for 14 players in 17 and will need to max out my trades.

There is weird amounts of silence from Croker. No statements from club sayin he is back to training, or weeks away or anything. I cant see him coming back soon.

That's a good point... his recent averages are becoming too hard to ignore, even if he's playing for a shit team. He still scored 79 v Penrith in a 30 point loss, should put that concern to bed.

What do we think par is for R17 players?

Before locking anything in I have Schuster, Walsh, Simonsson, Tohu, Avo (+ Crichton if we get lucky with Origin selections).

Will almost certainly bring in Verills + AFB, but still feels a touch light. If I go through with Thompson + SJ this week that's 9, probably about right?

Going the Olam > Aitken route and keeping Turpin gives me this team for the week with 12 to go

    Brailey
    Harris, Haas, Tauk
    TPJ, Tupouniua
    Cleary, SJ
    Peachey, Aitken
    Hynes, Teddy, Walsh

    Turpin, Watson, Moses, Fog
    Jones, Verrills, Pappy, Schuster

I'm looking at 9-10 (depending on rd17 cashout options). The plus side is that most are decent scorers so looking for low-mid 500s as a score on averages

If it’s looking like Walsh is moving into the halves then that probably means good things for Aitken going forward

As it stands now, top 1,000 teams have about 5 round 17 players on average.

      Current date/time is Sat Nov 23, 2024 1:39 am
