I reckon if there is about 15 suspensions I should be pretty close to a call up too.

Haha, it's possible! I think MS is just pointing out that he is closer than one would think, which is how I'm thinking as well. Personally thought maybe 2 or 3 places removed but I trust MS's footy brain.

Yeah I know what he meant, but I think most would consider him 4-5 spots away. I honestly haven't given it thought, as the idea that 4-5 origin guys being injured/suspended in 1 week of footy is extremely unlikely.

It comes at the cost of potentially dropping all those ranks again in the back end because I won't have the likes of Fifita/Tedesco etc. I will have 5 trades left after Rd 17 using 8 max trading (and some sideways) to get there. So it's an all or nothing strategy to finish with a decent rank.

I was confident with the strategy 2 weeks ago when there was still a chance of having 17, now it's kind of meh, and a couple of more outs and it will have failed dismally.

Yeah, now it's extremely unlikely, 6 weeks ago would have been on the cards, haha.

Mate I reckon you'll make over 5k ranks with 15 playing. Most in the comp will have 6-7 imo. The guys you're losing (presumably Schuster/Curran/maybe Walsh) will all be highly owned as far as round 17 guys go, so doubt you'll lose ground because of that. Like you said, the only issue is going to be your run home team verse everyone else, but here's hoping you manage to get a good amount of luck so you don't have to waste those 5 trades!

4 + Captain Tohu in action tonight. I better gain a lot of ranks because tomorrow's Turbo/Fifita show is going to fist me hard. Not to mention I'll only have SJ/Koloa on Sunday playing, so that'll likely be downhill as well.

Going to thoroughly enjoy my rank tonight!

Yep, so Schuster and Walsh on the back of losing Elliott last Round. Potentially Moses or Aryen to Origin. Fair call on it being relative with the high ownership guys, but mentally I can't get over the fact it was going to be a full squad when I made the initial commitment and started going sideways

The good thing is it 900k in the bank so in a less tempted position to trade Cleary. I wouldn't even consider NOT trading Cleary otherwise.

Lol just noticed Garrick is averaging 49 for the year and has gone from 367k to 668k

If you asked the general public to rank fringe origin players, Jackson would be behind players like TPJ, Barnett, Leilua, Peachey, Lane etc. In reality he is in front of all those guys

In terms of guys he is behind I expect Radley, Frizell, Finucane, Klemmer and possibly Brown/Matterson would be in front of him if injuries/suspension were to come up

Having a tough time deciding on second trade.

Could pull the trigger on Cleary to anyone (Fifita/DCE/Turbo/Ponga) but they are all origin players who may not play round 18 either..

Alternatively I could flick Schuster to someone in that price range (Lolo perhaps) that plays round 17 and hold Cleary for now.

Other option just hold the trade and deal with Verrills 37. Having C'd Teddy (lol) it feels like a trade is needed and hope for a big score.

I mean I'm terrified of him, but it's unlikely he backs up round 18 (playing on the Friday), so imo you're better off getting someone who plays at least this week + round 18, as they should go 100+ whereas Turbo is only like a 75% chance to get a banner in one round.
